The photoshoot for this Zenless Zone Zero Alice bunny ear look wrapped up smoothly today. Taking advantage of the great lighting, I snapped a series of Cosplay selfie shots using my phone's front camera. The makeup turned out exactly as I had envisioned—especially the two translucent, crystalline Teardrop makeup accents beneath the eyes, which not only added an expressive sparkle to the eyes but also brought out the character's subtle emotional nuance. Paired with a glossy clear lip glaze, elongated crisscross false eyelashes, and light brown contact lenses, the eye contours appeared both deep and bright. For the base makeup, I intentionally opted for a matte finish to prevent facial shine from distracting from the character's cool elegance, while subtly highlighting the apple of the cheeks and the tip of the nose for a sculpted, radiant dimension under the light. Sticking the teardrop decorations in place took several attempts to get the positioning just right; placing them just beneath the outer corners of the eyes aligned seamlessly with the upward sweep of the eyeliner, while the silver glitter on the teardrops added a soft, reflective shimmer.
The wig was where most of the styling effort went. The yellow hue is rich and richly layered; during cutting, I deliberately kept fluffy see-through bangs to frame the face, while delicate braids on both sides created a harmonious visual balance with the fluffy brown-and-white Kemonomimi girl ear headpiece. The hanging white pom-pom hair accessories and vibrant red ribbons by the ears form one of the key focal points of the entire look—especially the black brushstroke details on the white pom-pom, which give the headwear a warm, handcrafted feel. For the outfit, I chose a crisp white collared shirt featuring classic metallic buttons, radiating a neat Harajuku-inspired aesthetic. The black leather shoulder harness straps not only accentuated the shoulder line but also echoed the brown leather patches on the sleeves. The embossed patterns and textures on the badge are crisp and clear, and their distressed patina adds a narrative depth fitting for the character's background lore.
During the shoot, I deliberately used my phone's front camera at a slightly high angle to directly accentuate the animal ears and intricate braid details. The moment the shutter clicked, warm indoor light hit diagonally from the side, casting a soft halo along the edges of the hair strands and catching a subtle gleam along the rim of the shoulder badge. This bright yellow hair is extremely striking in everyday settings, but against the white shirt and black harness, it never felt cluttered—instead, it fully showcased the character's high visual recognizability. It took over three hours from starting makeup to finally fitting the wig before heading out today, with most of that time spent refining makeup details and adjusting the wig placement to ensure a seamless blend between the headpiece and the face contours, avoiding any unnatural bulkiness.
As an enthusiast who loves experimenting with different styles, this outfit—grounded in a casual everyday shirt yet fused with animal ears and distinctive accessories—offered a very unique cosplay experience. This non-traditional costume setup actually made it easier to relax during shooting; unlike wearing heavy armor or voluminous ballgowns, I didn't have to constantly worry about damaging garments or losing balance. I could face the camera with a more casual, lifelike attitude, much like an everyday snapshot of the character in a virtual metropolis. Looking at the relaxed vibe in the finished photos, I find myself increasingly drawn to this gentle portrait style. Rather than rigid posing, natural candid snapshots that channel the character's core essence feel far more compelling. The entire shoot was effortless—candid moments of my hair fluttering as I turned in place or looking down into the viewfinder produced great compositions. I am very satisfied with this freshly minted record today and adore this clean, crisp styling. The true meaning of cosplay is not just recreating an appearance, but finding that personal resonance with the character's inner self throughout the portrayal. Being able to complete this set of Zenless Zone Zero Alice Cosplay selfies in such a comfortable, relaxed state was an absolute delight. Moving forward, I will continue exploring more intriguing works and characters with this sincere yet effortless mindset, striving to convey the unique charm behind every look through the lens.
