This outfit took nearly two months from patterning to final completion, and the curves of the shoulder and leg armor were adjusted repeatedly several times to fit my body shape. The fluorescent part of the bow weapon was handcrafted with embedded light-guiding wires; it looks decent during the day, but once inside the studio and the lights dim, the texture of flowing energy comes out completely. Special thanks to the photographer and retoucher. The lighting mindset this time was fantastic—instead of over-relying on post-processing special effects, they used real studio lighting positions to clearly present the layers and material textures of the clothes. The blurred reflection on the floor and the floating crystal shards were all arranged on-site, which truly created a great atmosphere.

Shooting was actually quite physically demanding, especially kneeling on one knee while holding this bow; the center of gravity had to be stabilized, yet my facial expression couldn't look like I was straining too hard. The photographer kept guiding my breathing rhythm on the side. In the standing pose shot, the lines of my legs happened to sit right on the boundary between shadows and highlights, making the reflective texture of the boots and armor look very three-dimensional. The biggest difficulty of this costume was those asymmetrical metallic pieces. To make the edges look sharp, rigid support materials were used for the lining, which restricted my range of motion, but the final photo results were totally worth it.

I usually enjoy studying the design concepts behind characters in a role-playing game, such as how the purple, white, and gold color scheme appears translucent under lighting effects, and how those geometric decorative elements echo the lines on the weapon. This shoot was a very earnest recreation attempt in Anime-style photography. Not much skin smoothing was done in post-processing, preserving the authentic skin texture to make it look more realistic. I hope to try more challenges of similar styles in the future; every time I finish a shoot, I gain a new understanding of the character.
