This time I cosplayed Black Cat from Blue Archive. I really love this slightly mysterious cat-girl setting, so I thoroughly enjoyed the process from look-testing to shooting. To recreate the character, I chose long black hair paired with cat ears that have a white inner lining, along with her iconic pink halo on top, making it easy to capture the character's spirit visually. The wig was specifically trimmed to leave layered bangs, which not only fits Black Cat's original hairstyle but also avoids looking too heavy, offering a natural flowing feel when the wind blows during outdoor shooting.

For the costume, I chose a Gothic style outfit dominated by black tones. The skirt hem features layered black tulle and satin patchwork materials, giving it a strong sense of texture. When walking, the folds of the skirt spread out with the movements, forming a very full silhouette. The top section is a tube-top design, paired with a black lace collar and a silver necklace, beautifully displaying the unique refinement and mystery of the Gothic style. To enhance the overall completeness of the match, I also paired it with pure black stockings and matte high heels, which elongated the visual effect and made the lines of the entire look appear more slender.

The shooting location this time was chosen on an outdoor city rooftop, right during the soft light of evening. That slightly gray-toned sunset cast upon the black dress perfectly matches Black Cat's cool aloofness. During the actual session of Anime-style photography, I experimented with a few different physical expressions. Some were standing poses, such as a slightly low-angle perspective to give the overall aura more presence; additionally, paired with the black rose prop in hand, some poses leaning against the railing were arranged to give the frame a stronger narrative feel. When capturing split seconds, the photographer snapped moments of me tidying my hair or looking back, which felt more natural and vivid than static posed shots.

As an enthusiast who frequently does cosplay, I feel that while the costume, makeup, and hair are important, the character's "soul" is the real key. Although Black Cat looks aloof on the outside, she actually carries a bit of tsundere and playfulness in her setting details. Therefore, during the shoot, I also incorporated some relaxed and cute movements, such as resting my chin on my hands or lightly tapping the ground with one leg, hoping to show the multi-faceted nature of the character. A great set of photos for a Casual cosplay daily life requires not just excellent attire but also finding the character's state in front of the lens to resonate with them. This look-test and shooting experience for Black Cat was fantastic, and I'm sharing these insights on styling and photography with everyone, hoping to provide some reference for friends who like this style.
