[Elysia Cosplay] Dreamy Light and Shadow Records of Honkai Impact 3rd's Love Wish Fairy

These photos showcase the Love Wish Fairy theme look from Honkai Impact 3rd. From makeup tests to the final photo set, a lot of effort went into recreating that light, airy, and love-filled atmospheric vibe.

Let's talk about the costume first. The overall color scheme features classic pink, white, and red. To highlight character traits, we used a wealth of heart elements and faux red rose embellishments on the chest and headpiece. Because the fabric itself carries a slight pearlescent shimmer and translucency, it can easily overexpose under strong lighting; thus, before shooting, I specifically adjusted the layering of the fabrics. The detachable sleeves adopt semi-transparent material paired with wide ribbon bows, which, alongside white thigh-high socks and red cross-strap high heels, elongate body proportions to showcase a graceful, ethereal figure.

The wig and makeup were the highlights of expressiveness this time. The short pink hair styling requires fluffy volume and precise bang curvature; I manually trimmed the layers at the ends so the top of the head looks fuller rather than flat against the scalp. For eye makeup, I selected pink contact lenses with purple undertones, paired with fine shimmer eyeshadow and lengthened eyelashes to make the gaze look gentler and crystal-clear, exuding a flawless sense of innocence. For lip color, I intentionally used a glossy light pink lip glaze, which, together with a fair base makeup, built a soft and delicate visual effect.

We experimented with various shot compositions during the shoot. To align with the "Love Wish Fairy" theme, the photographer used wide-angle close-up compositions. For instance, that full-body tilted composition sitting on the daybed was actually designed to leverage the wide-angle stretching effect to present leg lines and cross-strap shoe details in a more extended manner. At the same time, we incorporated special techniques, such as adding a foreground blurred effect of red ribbons when waving the magic wand—that motion blur trace perfectly echoed the dreamy magic-casting moment.

For scene construction in this pink-themed cosplay, we selected a plain pink background cloth, decorated with white Roman pillars and climbing roses as foreground and environmental accents. This seemingly simple setup actually put lighting to the test. To create a dreamlike halo effect, we used strong diffused soft lights during lighting setup and placed the model right at the intersection of top light and key light, creating a natural soft-focus edge effect that gave the overall image a gentle, dazzling yet non-glaring premium texture.

Regarding interactive poses, we specifically designed movements like reaching a hand toward the camera and making a heart shape with both hands. This design aimed to visually convey a sense of connection with the audience behind the screen—not merely showcasing costume, but expressing the character's core essence of generously sharing love and embracing the world. When shooting this type of character, both eye contact direction and hand movement intensity need to be sufficiently gentle; if too forceful, it would ruin the character's unique, elf-like playfulness and approachable warmth.

Finally, I'd like to reflect on my feelings about this look. Cosplaying a character who embodies "love and beauty" is truly a joyful experience. The moment you step into the set fully geared up, enveloped by the scenery and lighting, you naturally want to display a gentle, confident, and inspiring presence. This sense of immersion is precisely the special experience cosplay bestows—it isn't just mimicking an appearance, but attempting to touch and understand the pure emotion behind it, then preserving that feeling within these photos through visual imagery.
