[Seele Cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd Mirrored Flourishes Stigma, Sharing Insights on Recreating the Qipao Look

"Captain, did Seele get the Stigma outfit right this time?" For this project, I chose to recreate the qipao version of Seele Vollerei's Mirrored Flourishes Stigma from Honkai Impact 3rd. Distinct from her standard battle suits, this style exudes a reserved, secluded charm. To faithfully restore this stigma look, I put immense effort into everything from pattern drafting to final shooting, and today I'd like to share my experience with fellow Captains.

First, the crucial outfit component. The most striking aspects of the Mirrored Flourishes Qipao cosplay are its color scheme and off-shoulder cut. The white jacquard patterned fabric offers a rich texture with a subtle luster, echoing Seele's quiet, "tranquil as water" aura. The large blue floral embellishment at the shoulder is the centerpiece; to achieve a three-dimensional, fluffy volume, I selected stiff gradient-dyed fabric and hand-stitched each petal together. Below the blue flower, dark fabric drapes down seamlessly, combining with a backless design to create an elegant, mysterious visual impact without requiring elaborate posing.

Next is the red mark on her back, an iconic visual signature for Seele. For shooting convenience and to avoid sweat smudging, I used high-quality temporary tattoo transfers. Once applied, the red emblem fit flush against the skin with seamless edges, creating a striking color contrast against the blue-and-white tones of the qipao. Additionally, to add a subtle mechanism edge to the Anime cosplay look, I fitted a blue thigh ring. Selecting metal clasps and inner leather lining required extra care to ensure wearing comfort while keeping a crisp shape during outdoor seated poses.

For styling details, the wig features a black-to-blue gradient short haircut. Although short wigs are easier to maintain than long hair, shaping natural yet layered textured strands required considerable styling time. The white flower and long ribbons beside the head were double-secured with hot glue and hair clips, ensuring stability even in windy outdoor settings. The two white ribbons cascading down the back provided beautiful extension for back-shot compositions, adding depth and vertical spatial harmony.

Regarding the shoot location, we chose an open area near the river, framed by city skyscrapers and clouds. River reflections under natural sunlight were breathtaking. Aiming to highlight the beauty of this stigma costume's back view, I posed on the edge of a stone ledge turning back toward the camera, capturing the red back emblem, blue floral clusters, and spread-out skirt hem in a single frame. The ambient light created reflections on the water, blending a modern cyber-city feel with the character's gentle demeanor.

Every time I do Seele cosplay, I feel the immense strength beneath her delicate exterior. Although the Mirrored Flourishes stigma version is less complex than her default battle suits, it demands high nuance in capturing her temperament. I hope the costume details, accessories, and styling reflect my dedication to this character.
