[Elysia Cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd Floral Bell Melody: Seaside Lantern Night Stroll

This photoshoot of Elysia's Floral Bell Melody was taken by the sea just as twilight was fading, accompanied by fierce coastal winds. To capture the warm, enigmatic glow of the lantern, we waited until the blue hour before rolling the camera. The nightfall dipped the sea into profound deep blue hues, allowing the lantern's amber warmth to pop dramatically across the frame—this cool-warm chiaroscuro contrast delivered precisely the serene atmosphere I envisioned.

While the Floral Bell Melody attire looks effortlessly ethereal, wearing it is actually quite elaborate. The folds of the white gown and layers of pale violet chiffon had to be tidied layer by layer, especially since gusting sea winds sent the sheer ribbons flying erratically. To recreate Elysia's signature pink-to-white gradient hair, I gave the wig precise layered thinning; the twig-shaped crown headpiece was reinforced firmly with hairspray and bobby pins to keep things secure in the seaside elements. The purple blossom at the waist and the golden chains were equally pivotal, checked repeatedly before shooting to ensure they wouldn't entangle during motion.

As for the props, the vintage lantern housed an internal LED filament, lending it noticeable heft; holding it steady for extended poses definitely made my arm ache. To maintain postural stability, I counted seconds silently while regulating my breathing. Makeup easily degraded outdoors under moisture-laden sea breezes, making setting sprays and blotting sheets absolute essentials. I chose pale violet contact lenses paired with pastel pink eye shadow, striving to mirror her hallmark tender, dewy charm.

During the shoot, the rusted iron pillars and weathered chains in the backdrop served as fantastic framing elements: their gritty industrial texture formed a stark visual juxtaposition against the delicate, sumptuous gown, infusing the coastal night with palpable narrative depth. Shooting on an open pier meant supplementary lighting was a technical test. We positioned high-powered strobes with warm gels off to the side, matching the amber lantern light seamlessly against my skin tone to avoid awkward mismatched color casts. The photographer constantly snapped dynamic frames as the wind swept through the purple streamers—yielding kinetic energy far more vivid than static poses.

Regarding emotional expression, rather than merely projecting her effervescent brightness, I leaned into the nocturnal mood and lantern glow to channel an introspective, longing demeanor. Allowing my gaze to drift slightly into the distance alongside the sunset twilight and rolling waves let the atmospheric resonance emerge organically. Posing near the guardrail edge required strict attention to footing with every step to ensure safety.

During color grading, I specifically requested preserving the sky's gradient from indigo to sunset amber-orange, keeping the lantern's glow natural without blowing out the warm filament core. Highlights across the metallic vambraces and golden chains were sharpened to accentuate their luster, while skin textures retained delicate organic grain rather than heavy-handed smoothing for authentic realism.
