For this shoot, we specifically chose a Cherry blossom outdoor scene; pairing the top choice elements from Anime convention trends with this pink palette created an exceptional overall atmosphere. Since this look features a high ponytail and long hair, styling took considerable care: the wig had to be smoothed out in advance and secured at the crown with bobby pins to keep the wind from blowing it apart. The bangs framing both sides of the forehead were curled into relaxed arcs to flatter the face shape. To complement the Long pink hair, the eye makeup used eyeshadow from the same color palette, with blush placed lower on the cheeks to avoid making the face look broad under bright lighting. For the costume, the blue heart-shaped gem in the center is very bright with clear reflections, standing out vividly against the white garment alongside metallic charms. The long white gloves needed ironing beforehand to eliminate wrinkles, keeping the arm and hand lines clean and sharp.
When capturing the reaching-out gesture in photo 1, the photographer used an ultra-wide-angle lens with strong spatial perspective. I had to get very close, pushing the glove almost right against the lens, then leaning my body slightly back to balance my center of gravity while keeping my facial expression in check—it took repeated retakes to nail that dramatic visual punch. Photo 2 featured a standard half-body pose with hands on hips or framing the face, which felt easier to capture and was ideal for highlighting costume details.
Because the lighting was typical soft spring daylight, raw straight-from-camera shots tended to look grayish, so we mainly relied on reflectors to add catchlights in the eyes. In post-processing, to preserve the character's dreamy, translucent texture, I moderately reduced gray tones in the environment and boosted the contrast between the pink petals and blue gems. Special care was taken to prevent strong warm light from the blossoms from distorting skin tones, keeping the complexion fair and porcelain, while balancing highlights and shadows to give the white outfit and pale purple-pink lining richer depth.
Whenever going from an Anime convention to an outdoor floral shoot, the biggest hurdle is preventing the wig from catching on tree branches, and waiting for the perfect falling petal often meant retaking shots over and over. It was physically demanding—getting enough perspective for the wide-angle shot even required lying on the ground to find the angle. Every photoshoot feels like a test of endurance, but bringing my favorite character to life beneath the cherry blossoms and seeing the final results made every ounce of effort worthwhile. This set avoids excessive filter retouching, focusing primarily on harmonizing the character with the cherry blossom landscape.
