[Seele cosplay] Seele Stygian Waves: Skirt Hem and Starlight, Searching for the Summer Sea Within

Putting on this Seele Stygian Waves outfit, the final result was truly satisfying. The blue gradient wig was layered with care, and paired with the white bow headband, gave my look an energetic lift. To pull off cute, lively expressions, blue contacts and long eyelashes were essential, which, together with translucent base makeup, balanced out the cool tone of the blue dress.

The highlight of this outfit is the color-blocked blue and white design. The top is a dark blue halter-neck dress accented with pink and yellow trim. A sheer mesh cutout across the chest offers a subtle glimpse of skin, adding a touch of allure without overdoing it. The white sheer tulle skirt is printed with delicate blue blossoms, fitting the theme perfectly.

For props, aside from the essential neck floral accessory, the star was the blue-accented black cat plush. I tried several poses: cradling it so its chin rested on my shoulder, or holding it slightly aloft to coordinate with my gaze. Post-processing added stardust, halos, and stickers to make up for the lack of a real ocean setting.

As mentioned, I live nowhere near the coast, so a genuine seaside shoot wasn't feasible anytime soon—which felt like a bit of a pity. The shoot took place amidst heavy haze and strong winds, which was exhausting, forcing me to pivot from my initial pure maiden concept. Pushing filters and star effects in post-production helped craft an interwoven tapestry of waves and starry skies.

Even in a studio or at home, I gave extensive thought to composition. The fourth photo used perspective framing, with my hand slightly outstretched toward the lens to create visual extension, highlighting the garment's tailoring and neckline. The second photo captured one hand touching the corner of my mouth while holding the cat, evoking a Dreamy Girl feeling under the glowing halo. The third was a tighter hug with the plush, looking toward the camera in three-quarter profile to appear gentle and obedient. The first photo was packed with OOTD-style stickers, looking as lively as everyday life at home.

Beyond showing off the outfit, I wanted to share some practical tips as a cosplayer. For wig styling, shaping airy volume by hand and setting it with spray prevents a stiff look. In front of the lens, conveying the character's persona takes personal study—from a blink to a slight head tilt, angles must be planned so the face doesn't look wide.

Photoshoots are undeniably tiring, especially when designing for extensive post-production mood boards. Constantly putting on and taking off clothes to adjust fit, along with unseasonal weather, takes a toll. Fortunately, the finished photos turned out high-quality. Reaching toward the camera with perspective depth and turning back while holding the cat captured my understanding of this character.

Throughout the shoot, I kept imagining how I would shoot if I ever visited an authentic beach. Maybe with genuine sunlight, real sand, and an onshore breeze. Then, without needing stickers or artificial glows, I could sit directly on the beach, watching the skirt sway with the rolling tide. Perhaps I wouldn't need such intense posing—just standing quietly would be lovely enough.

Regardless, this blue-and-white dress offered wonderful creative freedom. While I hope to experience the real ocean breeze swaying this skirt someday, I wanted to share this dreamy essence of the Other Shore right now. Hopefully, whenever you hold a plush cat, you can feel the unique 2D charm of this Honkai Impact 3rd character.
