[Aemeath Cosplay] Wuthering Waves Convention photos Log - Image 1

The overall texture of this Aemeath Cosplay Convention photo from the expo turned out quite well. Shooting that day was actually exhausting—especially with that polearm weapon, which I held up for ages to strike the right poses until my arms were aching, but the finished shots look amazing. This shoot mainly took advantage of the industrial-style light array backdrop in the venue's corner. The highly reflective floor also served as a natural reflection board; lowering the camera angle allowed for a complete reflection of the figure, and paired with the light bokeh behind me, the atmosphere instantly came alive.

The costume preparation was fairly thorough. That long gown in blue, white, and pink was actually quite a test of balance; to give the skirt a better flowing flutter when blown by the wind, many detailed internal fastenings were done, and coupled with that extra-long pink wig, the weight of the entire outfit was at its max that day. For the legs, I wore White stockings, which, paired with the asymmetrical cut of the skirt, elongated the leg lines nicely during photography. Maintaining that elegant pose of kneeling on one knee while holding the weapon was quite demanding on core strength—after finishing that set of movements, I had to crouch on the ground for a good while to catch my breath before standing back up.

The convention venue was packed, making it no easy task to find a clean backdrop free of passersby. Thanks to the photographer for helping find angles to dodge the crowds, the lighting was also spot on. Since the backdrop itself was dark, adding fill light to the subject made it easy to make the character stand out. Post-processing mainly adjusted the lighting to make the floor reflection clearer while slightly subduing distracting background lights. Even though maneuvering through a crowded expo with a long weapon was tiring and passersby occasionally blocked the camera, everyone was very friendly, and we smoothly wrapped up this Convention photo shoot.

Portraying Aemeath this time gave me a deeper understanding of the character. As mentioned in the description, 'May this song reach the depths of your heart,' I tried to convey this sentiment during the shoot—not merely striking poses, but rather seeking to capture that quiet yet resolute state. After all, cosplay is not just recreating costumes, but a lived experience of the character's inner temperament. Looking at these photos back in the green room, all the exhaustion felt thoroughly worthwhile. Thanks to the photographer who collaborated that day, and to fellow attendees who yielded space for me to shoot; thanks to them, I got these satisfying Convention photos, documenting a day navigating through the convention.
