Today's convention photo features Flandre Scarlet. This red and black layered dress and ruffled bonnet really complement my skin tone, and it matches the dark style atmosphere perfectly. The colorful crystal prisms on the wings were hand-strung one by one. Although I had to be careful not to tangle the wig during shooting, the shimmering, translucent look in the final photos made it completely worth it. The bandaged teddy bear I'm holding is a prop I specially found, and together with the red apple embellishment, it perfectly restores that subtle temperament of "seemingly harmless but hiding a desire for destruction." The makeup intentionally enhanced the shadows of the eye sockets and the brightness of the red pupils to give the gaze a slight hint of madness. The lighting at the convention venue was a bit messy this time, but the photographer's snapshot timing was spot on, retaining the crystal reflections without letting the black lace turn into a dead black blob. We tried several angles for the composition of both standing and sitting poses, and in the end, I felt this photo holding the apple best highlights the character's coexistence of playfulness and danger. The texture of the props and costume basically didn't need much post-processing; the colors straight out of the camera were already highly accurate to the original. Being able to interpret such a character full of contradictory charm is truly satisfying. Every time I cosplay a Touhou Project character, I can't help but admire the charm of the Scarlet Devil Mansion's design.
