This time, I'm sharing my Aemeath Cosplay experience portraying the character from Wuthering Waves. In terms of makeup and styling, the top priority was the Pink long hair styling—the hair strands are long and need to maintain a fluffy volume, with fine glitter dotted across specific sections of the wig, while ensuring seamless blending at the hairline and forehead to avoid unnatural lines from the wig cap. For the Anime-style eye makeup, large-diameter golden-brown contact lenses were paired with dense false lashes, droop eyeshadow shading, and under-eye blush to intensify the depth of the gaze and the dreamy allure at the corners of the eyes. For lip makeup, a glossy pink lip glaze was chosen to enhance facial radiance. The costume accessories are intricate, featuring a black-and-gold choker, light blue geometric patterns on the white gloves, and gold buckles at the wrists. The chest is adorned with a black bow and a translucent blue heart-shaped gem pendant; all these accessories required constant monitoring during the shoot to prevent shifting. The White dress design features off-the-shoulder tailoring, which places high demands on body proportions and posture, requiring continuous adjustments to my shoulder posture to maintain visual elegance. It was rather warm on the shooting day, and the wig combined with the snug accessories added to the challenge. To prevent sweat from compromising the makeup, my movements were kept restrained to keep the outfit pristine and the face makeup intact. In terms of photography, lighting was primarily used to illuminate the face, utilizing side shadows to enhance three-dimensional depth. We tried four distinct poses: looking back with a slight profile, clasping both hands across the chest, making a peace sign, and placing a single hand gently over the chest. None of these involved exaggerated movements, relying instead on eye contact and subtle head tilts to convey the character's unique temperament. In post-processing, adjustments focused on skin tones and soft-focus glow, preserving the crisp definition of garment seamlines while tweaking the monotone purple-pink background to elevate the overall texture. Throughout this process, angles and poses were iteratively refined to achieve an ideal state, with substantial effort dedicated to wig shaping and makeup preservation. The true challenge of this look lay in balancing the expressive Anime-style eye makeup with the sci-fi techwear aesthetic of the costume—a coordination requiring meticulous handling of details, such as ensuring reflective highlights on the chest gem and keeping the glove patterns uncropped. This immersive roleplay journey allowed me to explore a styling aesthetic rarely touched in daily life; while exhausting, the captured frames stand as a rewarding testament to this period of dedicated practice.
