[Daji cosplay] Naohaihui Golden Fox Spirit Style: Zhongshan AS Comic Convention Photo Recap

This Daji styling was photographed during the Zhongshan AS Comic Convention. The gold-and-black palette paired with fluffy ears and a plush tail delivered immense visual impact. For the wig, I selected a style with an orange gradient effect; after putting it on, extensive fluffing and combing was necessary to capture that authentic, fluffy animal fur texture. The red diamond forehead ornament and crimson contact lenses served as the crowning touch, instantly unleashing the enchanting allure of the fox spirit.

The wardrobe details are exceptionally rich: both cuffs and greaves feature red endless knot patterns, and the main fabric carries a metallic sheen that easily casts harsh glare under strong light. To prevent blown-out reflections, the photographer adjusted camera positions and fill-light angles, leveraging natural light from the venue's high windows alongside reflectors to endow the golden fabrics with a premium, luxurious finish. Splicing black leather against golden borders gave the ensemble distinct, sculptural layers, and the metallic leg armor produced a subtle clinking sound with every stride, adding genuine realism.

For the lower half, I styled Black stockings with chunky platform heels, which visually elongated my leg lines wonderfully. Posing on the white plush blanket required repeated micro-adjustments to the angles between my thighs and calves, as well as the placement of the skirt hem and leg armor, to sculpt natural, flattering contours. That colossal tail was surprisingly heavy—supported by an internal metal wire armature, it had to be belted securely to my waist, demanding constant attention to balance when shifting positions to avoid tipping over. To preserve the fluffiness of the plush props, I had to stay vigilant even during breaks, never daring to lean back carelessly.

Embodying Daji relies heavily on mastering facial expressions and subtle demeanors. Hand gestures must stay soft and fluid, while the eyes should convey a spirited charm tinged with playful aloofness. The convention hall was crowded and warm, making roaming and shooting in this heavy outfit physically exhausting. Harsh overhead lighting easily cast unflattering shadows beneath the brow bone and nose, so we scouted window-adjacent spots whenever possible or bounced light upward using a reflector. The eye makeup utilized orange-red eyeshadow to harmonize seamlessly with the hair color, while a softly winged eyeliner combined with trimmed side bangs nicely sculpted my face shape.

Sharing this throwback set now, I still appreciate how much care went into the tailoring and coordination back then. Fox spirit aesthetics are always a hit at anime conventions; this golden design photographed effortlessly whether roaming the floor or posing in dedicated shoots. From styling the wig and inserting contact lenses to polishing metal pieces and brushing out plush accessories, every cosplay experience is an act of faithful dedication and respect toward the character's design. Sorting through these props always brings back the shared joy of connecting with everyone at the convention that day.
