[Eyjafjalla Cosplay] Arknights summer Swimsuit cosplay, beach shells and pink memories

The preparation for this Eyjafjalla Cosplay Swimsuit styling took a long time. From wig styling to costume detail adjustments, a lot of thought went into every step. The brown-pink gradient wig needed to be combed to have a sense of layering, paired with pink-purple contact lenses, making the overall makeup lean towards a translucent summer feel. The pink plaid fabric was spliced with a large amount of ruffles, and the translucent gauze outer skirt had a pearlescent reflection, presenting a lightweight texture under the convention lights. For this crop top design, I controlled my diet the week before the shoot, hoping to showcase the waist and abdomen lines better and ensure I was in top shape on the day of the shoot. The ruffles on the top and the plaid of the shorts needed to be ironed flat; the translucent gauze outer skirt was very easy to wrinkle, so I deliberately used a garment steamer to handle it before setting off.

In terms of props, that branch staff with pink flowers was handmade. The twisted feel of the branches needed to be repeatedly adjusted. To fit the magic setting, fine silk threads were also wrapped around it to increase texture. The lace leg ring on the right leg and the blue geometric ankle guard on the right ankle were the highlights of the entire styling. Because it was a barefoot shoot, walking around the venue required being extra careful about the ground, trying to avoid dirty places, and cleaning the soles of the feet before moving to a new location. This time shooting at the Qingdao Anime Festival (Qingdao DC), I am very grateful to the three photographers Tab, Zhuojiu, and Shisan. The first three photos taken by Tab captured dynamic moments, and the use of light made the skin texture very good; Zhuojiu's post-processed blue glowing particles and falling cherry blossom special effects gave the frame a strong magical atmosphere; the last two photos taken by Shisan specially arranged sand, shells, pearls, and starfish around my feet, with Rhodes Island's bag and a box labeled CORAL COAST placed beside, directly building a mini coastline on site.

To match the lightweight feel of the Swimsuit cosplay theme, actions tried included single-leg standing, single-knee kneeling, and sitting postures. With the staff in hand, I needed to maintain a casting or dancing posture, balancing arm strength and body flexibility. When lifting the skirt hem, the translucent gauze fabric fluttered; although beautiful, to capture the best arc, I often had to freeze in an awkward posture for a long time. The lightness of the skirt hem formed a contrast with the weight of the staff; the hand holding the staff needed strength, while the expression had to remain relaxed, a contrast that needed continuous balancing during shooting. When standing on one leg, the core had to be kept tight all the time so that the body lines looked relaxed and stretched.

When shooting the sitting posture, because the clothing fabric was relatively scanty and the skirt was short, I needed to pay close attention to avoiding wardrobe malfunctions and the use of anti-glare tape. Ground temperature, the placement of shell props, and the display of leg lines all required repeatedly communicating angles with the photographer. Adjusting the position of the leg ring to ensure the ankle guard didn't look abrupt in the frame—these details were all checked before the shoot. Every shutter click was a dual test of character understanding and camera expression. Sometimes to wait for a perfect overhead light, I had to hold the pose in place for several minutes, and muscle soreness was a common occurrence.

The design of this Swimsuit cosplay broke my previous impression of combat clothing, incorporating more soft and cute elements. Combining the staff with the beach had a contrast-cute charm. Combining the lightness of pink and the firmness of a spellcaster was the core I wanted to express in this shoot. After the shoot, taking off the wig and accessories, looking at myself in the photos, I felt all the hard work was completely worth it. Although the lights in the venue were not as soft as natural light, with everyone's cooperation, the desired summer beach atmosphere was still restored. I hope this set of photos can convey the feeling of summer, carrying the smell of sea breeze and a tiny touch of magic.
