[Persian cat cosplay] Azur Lane: Refreshing Poolside Shoot Log

Today I am sharing the photo shoot log for my Azur Lane Persian cat cosplay in her swimsuit attire. The location was set around an open-air outdoor swimming pool, and honestly, shooting outdoors mid-summer demands immense courage. To align with the character concept, I styled a long golden-blonde synthetic wig; managing waist-length hair is intensely time-consuming, especially with outdoor breezes where keeping flyaways in check while holding dynamic poses became a true test of patience. On the cosmetics side, the focus centered on the eyes, pairing sapphire-blue contact lenses with soft crimson eyeshadow to closely channel her signature temperament.

For the wardrobe, I selected a glossy black one-piece swimsuit whose vinyl-like surface bounced specular highlights brilliantly under direct sunlight, exuding a sleek latex-like sheen. To prevent the look from reading too plain, I layered a loose, sheer black long-sleeved chiffon duster over top, using its waist drawstring to cinch the silhouette and flatter natural proportions. Accessory-wise, vintage circular sunglasses rested atop my head while a delicate gold chain necklace framed the throat, preventing the upper décolletage from looking bare. While visually striking, wearing this ensemble under blazing midday sun absorbed immense heat, and because the material offers zero breathability, I was completely drenched in sweat within half an hour.

The shooting workflow was genuinely grueling. The first frame focused on a mid-body portrait: standing in three-quarter profile with my right hand raised to brush back my hair, accentuating torso curves and the glossy surface sheen of the swimsuit. The second frame captured a seated pose along the stone pool coping, raising both hands to adjust my hair with knees softly bent. This stance demanded solid core balance: the stone ledge was scorching hot from the sun, and with pool water slicking the coping, holding balance while extending leg lines meant continuously engaging the thighs and abdominal muscles. The photographer capitalized brilliantly on available daylight; set against blue skies, drifting clouds, and palm trees, the shimmering water surface acted as a natural bounce card, rendering the skin with luminous clarity.

Outdoor swimsuit shoots invariably demand extensive prep work—generous sunscreen applications beforehand to protect the skin barrier, followed by frequent reapplications of SPF spray between takes to ward off sunburns. During color grading, I avoided heavy beauty filters, intentionally preserving organic skin texture alongside the crisp specular glints across the swimwear; aggressive airbrushing obliterates photographic realism and washes out high-gloss material details. The overall palette was graded into a vivid, sun-drenched summer aesthetic that complemented the pool motif.

Enduring the scorching sun outdoors drained a great deal of stamina, but reviewing the proofs from raw selects to final retouches confirmed that the summer atmosphere hit every intended benchmark. Tackling a poolside theme mid-summer is an authentic trial, yet delivering a creative result I truly love makes every drop of sweat worthwhile.
