This photoshoot featured the Miniso collaboration styling of Amiya from Arknights (Amiya cosplay). The costume features a classic white base with blue piping, delivering a wonderfully cozy, homestyle loungewear feel. To align with the theme of an adorable Amiya preparing for sleep, I opted against dramatic dynamic poses, choosing instead to sit barefoot on the tatami mat and let my body relax naturally. The bunny ears atop my head are the true soul of this Bunny ears cosplay—with their soft, plush texture, they required careful angle adjustment upon wearing so they wouldn't look stiff. For makeup, I deliberately accentuated the presence of the vivid blue contact lenses, while using reddish eyeshadow tones to evoke a slightly vulnerable or sleepy mood. For props, the blue plush doll was an absolute eye-catcher; cuddling it while gently resting my cheek against its head looked exceedingly sweet and docile (Moe-style cosplay).
The studio lighting was set to warm ambient tones, blending with the wooden furniture in the background to build the cozy atmosphere of a tranquil bedroom. The whole session was quite fun, as the challenge lay in maintaining a languid, drowsy demeanor without actually falling asleep! To better capture the collaboration's domestic slice-of-life warmth, I incorporated numerous resting postures into my movement choreography—such as folding both hands softly beside my neck or gently cradling the plush toy. The surrounding set was also arranged with intention: the cabinet behind held other plushies, infusing an extra layer of lived-in authenticity. The color palette across this set is unified—white, blue, and warm wood tones harmonizing for a soothing visual appeal. As a cosplayer, beyond recreating the wardrobe faithfully, one must convey the character's emotional state within that specific scene. Amiya's innate tenderness and delicate exhaustion were expressed through these subtle gazes and body language.
When shooting quiet, contemplative portraiture like this, success hinges on meticulous attention to detail. For instance, the knick-knacks and small ornaments on the shelf behind richly enhanced visual layering. The blue plushie in my arms—with its purple inner ears and cross-star bow—echoed harmoniously with my own costume accessories. For hair styling, I intentionally kept the side locks longer to drape over my shoulders, which flattered the facial shape while suiting the character's gentle demeanor. Sitting barefoot on the tatami cushion, even the curl of my toes needed to appear relaxed and natural. During makeup application, a clean, translucent base was paramount to emphasize innocent purity. A touch of soft blush under the eyes further accentuated that relaxed, pre-sleep nonchalance. In terms of lighting, the photographer opted for diffused, soft indoor setups free of harsh shadows, yielding an ethereal ambiance akin to a gentle bedtime ritual. I truly hope this series delivers a soothing sense of peace and comfort.
The design of this collaboration was truly ingenious, with blue accents ornamenting the white dress in just the right proportions. I purposefully accessorized with blue rings and an anklet, which added rich textural refinement under the lens. Throughout the shoot, I continually calibrated my mental state: preparing for sleep isn't deep slumber, but rather a dreamy, half-awake state of soft daydreaming. The gaze needed to be gently unfocused, the posture relaxed, avoiding the taut tension required when wearing combat gear. The oversized blue bunny plushie beside me was another crucial prop; cuddling it or leaning against it dialed up the adorable factor of the frame. By the time we neared the end, I genuinely felt drowsy because sitting on the tatami mat was so incredibly cozy! Still, to produce stunning visuals, I had to keep focused and pinpoint the right angles to capture the intended aesthetic. I look forward to experimenting with more collaboration stylings of diverse genres in the future, and showcasing even more multifaceted sides of Amiya across different backdrops (Arknights & Amiya cosplay).
