[Demon girl cosplay] Arknights Hongshan Zoo Collaboration: Catching a Cute Little Beast Offline

The Arknights Hongshan Zoo collaboration was one of my most anticipated offline experiences recently. To recreate the character of the Demon girl, I put extra effort into the makeup and styling this time.
For the wig, I chose a light gold style with blunt bangs, featuring special braided details at the hair ends. Although the color is soft, its glossiness is prone to overexposure under sunlight, so I communicated with the photographer beforehand about the light positioning to avoid direct sunlight as much as possible. The cyan bow hair accessory features purple polka dots. Wearing it on top of my head not only increased recognition but also made the overall look more dynamic when paired with the beast ear props. The beast ears have built-in flexible wire, allowing minor curvature adjustments according to head shape. To ensure they wouldn't shake during the outdoor shoot, I used small bobby pins to secure them tightly from the inside.
In terms of the costume, the bright yellow zip-up jacket has a very crisp fit, and the color coordination between the orange patchwork on the cuffs and the purple zipper is extremely well done, which is my favorite part. Once worn, it not only provides a sharp silhouette, but the texture of the entire outfit is also beautifully preserved. However, the material of this clothing is rather thick, and given the outdoor temperatures, walking around Hongshan Zoo for a while indeed got very hot, requiring occasional touch-ups to stay fresh.
For the makeup, I specially chose bright green colored contacts to enhance the vividness of my gaze. For the eyeshadow, I used earth tones as a base and highlighted the inner corners with shimmer to make my eyes look more spirited. The contouring on my cheeks was kept soft, which, paired with the eyeliner and lengthened eyelashes, made my eyes look much larger on camera. Due to the complex lighting in the outdoor environment, I applied the foundation as thinly as possible to better manage any facial oil.
The interaction during the shoot was the most fun part this time. My partner, who took photos with me, wore a white shirt and held a camera, and she professionally offered many composition suggestions. We deliberately chose a high-angle shot, using lens distortion to make the character look more petite and cute. In the photos, I happened to be squatting on a stone path with my hands propped near the lens, while the fallen leaves on the ground and the greenery behind me formed a natural background. She squatted very low, even having to lie down for this angle, which was really hard work. Meeting a friend who is willing to study camera angles together is incredibly lucky for a coser.
Regarding the environment of Hongshan Zoo, doing an outdoor cosplay shoot here is extremely comfortable. The animals are in a very relaxed state, and we avoided disturbing them, choosing instead to shoot on the walking paths and botanical landscape areas. There are many collaboration elements inside the park; the road signs and booth decorations all have a strong themed atmosphere, which added many pleasant surprises to our shooting process.
In fact, every outdoor shoot comes with some expected difficulties, such as the wig getting caught on tree branches or the clothes getting dirty. However, the color expressiveness of this costume under sunlight is excellent, and during the shoot, we did our best to showcase the orange armor and details of the outfit. The best part of the offline interaction was meeting fellow fans; seeing friends who recognized the character waving enthusiastically made all the prior preparation feel entirely worth it.
This look has a high overall level of accurate recreation, and the field photos taken are quite natural. Compared to a studio, outdoor light and shadow are more realistic, especially in this lush green natural environment, which makes it easier to bring out this sense of 2D daily life.
Being able to actually stand in the collaboration scene to complete this shoot was indeed a very memorable experience. For those who love this IP and character, being able to personally participate in the offline event and feel the collision between the character and reality is where the true reward lies.
