The visual core of this outfit lies in the chemical reaction between the fabric and lighting, deeply intertwined with the atmosphere of this character in the Arknights fan creation lore. Under the accompanying 'By the Side of Dreaming' theme, the overall design evokes a languid, effortless, yet subtly refined charm.

The pearlescent fabric exhibits shifting gradients of blue-violet and soft pink micro-sheen under specific lighting angles. Completely distinct from traditional cotton or silk, it significantly tests lighting setups. The design across the upper chest utilizes a rigid structure reminiscent of interwoven metallic scales, accented with braided ropes and tassels, seamlessly integrating a hardcore armor feel into a soft, flowing traditional robe. This clash of softness and structure perfectly aligns with the character's core persona.

Compared to many heavy suits of armor, the defining characteristic of this outfit is its lightness and translucency. The mandarin collar paired with an off-the-shoulder cut flatters the clavicle and neckline beautifully without looking bulky. The wide shawl and flared cuffs are exceptionally photogenic during posing, delivering an ethereal, flowing dynamic. There are also square cut-out details along the skirt hem, adding visual breathing room across the large color blocks.

For hair and makeup, the long pink base hair tests wig smoothness, while the fluffy pink fox ears on top serve as the vital spirit of the entire look. Paying close attention to the ears' orientation is crucial during shooting, as a slight head tilt creates a completely different adorable expression. Subtle golden ornaments scattered through the hair evoke the charm of traditional filigree while grounding the floatiness of the dominant pink palette.

For the setting, we chose a Chinese-style fantasy indoor space featuring traditional wooden lattice windows, where semi-sheer drapes in the background added hazy, layered depth. Next to the window was a large branch of blooming pink cherry blossoms, whose botanical elements echoed the character's hair color and blended harmoniously into the scene. The floor used a highly reflective mirror-like material, allowing low-angle shots to cleanly capture the reflections of the skirt hem, bare feet, and the delicate anklet adorned with blue and white beads, greatly enhancing the spatial depth of the composition.

The props each served distinct functions: a wooden folding fan, a metallic long-handled prop, and a pale green ceramic cup accommodated various posing needs. In particular, the subtle gesture in Photo 4—holding the cup with eyes closed and head tilted back—combined with the ambient lighting to convey a natural, tipsy charm, creating an endearing gap-moe contrast with her usual cool, reserved demeanor.

During the official shoot, this Chinese-style fantasy genre demanded high standards for ambient lighting. We used a mixed blend of cool and warm light on-site to illuminate the outfit's glossy luster while lowering ambient exposure to emphasize the subject. A special thanks to our retoucher, 'Mingfan', whose seasoned color-grading mastery added a dreamy haze and a cool filter to the overall atmosphere. While preserving the original pink-and-blue palette, it rendered the specular highlights with finer texture without compromising the fabric's true colors.

Moreover, because this dress places high demands on posture, I completed most poses sitting down. This beautifully showcased the spread of the skirt while naturally revealing bare feet. The barefoot styling paired with beaded foot accessories harmonized the character with nature, freeing her from footwear constraints while evoking a touch of raw, wild elegance.

Shooting a cosplay with Eastern fantasy elements is never just about replicating visual appearances, but about capturing the character's unique introspective spirit through the harmony of scenery, lighting, and diverse props. This entire shoot felt deeply immersive from start to finish, and the final Cosplay photography results captured the atmosphere envisioned from the very beginning.
