Here is a cosplay share of Amiya from Arknights. Full disclosure right from the start: this photo set definitely qualifies as heavily edited, and given the difference between my personal vibe and the original canon character, I want to preface this with a sincere apology for inaccuracy and a heavy retouching apology. Rather than opting for the familiar Rhodes Island uniform, I experimented with a casual summer ensemble to show Amiya away from the battlefield, enjoying a holiday like an ordinary girl.
First, let's talk about the styling. The wide-brimmed straw hat on my head is the core anchor of the entire outfit; I pinned a pink lily to the brim, perched green-tinted sunglasses beside it, and let sheer light-blue ribbons drape down on both sides, which not only added dynamic flutter but also visually contoured my face shape. The pair of purple-to-pink gradient plush bunny ears on top is Amiya's soul feature; to blend them seamlessly with the straw hat without looking jarring, I carefully angled their bend to achieve a natural silhouette. The dark blue choker around my neck echoes the color palette of the pink-and-white checkered off-shoulder puff-sleeve top, and the dainty light-blue bow on the chest was another deliberate detail I added to elevate the look.
For makeup, to reflect Amiya's exotic touch of long brown hair and blue eyes, I wore bright blue cosmetic contacts. The eye makeup concentrated on lower eyelid placement and brightening the aegyo sal, finished with dense false eyelashes to enlarge the eyes and give them a luminous sparkle. A soft pink blush was swept across the cheeks, paired with a sheer, dewy baby-pink lip tint. Honestly, due to lens distortion and ambient illumination, the raw shots required substantial post-processing—the heavy retouching apology comes in here, mainly to clean up facial shadows, even out skin tones, and keep the overall frame crisp and radiant.
The shoot took place inside a shopping mall where ambient lighting was complicated and top-down lights were harsh. To nail these selfies, I tested multiple angles before finding that a slight low angle—allowing the straw hat to frame the top edge of the composition—brilliantly shielded my face from cluttered overhead lighting while making my facial silhouette appear more delicate. The gesture of pinching the hat brim with my right hand served both to adjust the prop and bring my arm naturally into the frame, breaking visual stiffness. Since the plush ears caught noticeable glare under indoor spotlights, I softened the brightness along their edges in post-production to blend them smoothly with the wig hair.
Honestly, stepping into Amiya as a character left me feeling quite apprehensive; she is a timeless, deeply cherished figure, and everyone holds their own version of Amiya in their heart. Knowing that my facial features cannot achieve a one-hundred-percent match with canon, I straightforwardly offered an apology for inaccuracy and a heavy retouching apology at the beginning. Yet to me, cosplay is not only about strict replication, but also a medium for personal aesthetic expression. I love this summer straw hat styling, and preparing the props, coordinating garments, and refining the makeup brought me immense joy. Regardless of the final outcome, I poured my whole heart into capturing her sweet, obedient demeanor layered with that signature touch of gentle stubbornness, and I hope everyone can feel that sincere passion.
