A lot of preparation went into this dark style look for Amiya from Arknights (Amiya cosplay) before the shoot. The spiked black crown is made of a rather rigid material, requiring careful handling during wear to avoid messing up the hairstyle—especially with the massive Animal ears on top, which needed repeated adjustments in position and angle to maintain visual balance across both profile and frontal shots. The mask covering the left eye took quite a while to fasten securely to ensure it wouldn't shift during posing movements. In terms of makeup, to match the dark atmosphere in this Dark style cosplay, cool-toned contouring was used to deepen facial features, paired with dark red lip makeup and that vibrant blue contact lens, creating a striking contrast.
For the first profile close-up, the photographer utilized single-side backlighting, which perfectly illuminated the edges of the red hair in this Red hair photography setup. Combined with the shading over the face, the resulting mood was spot on. The second shot features a gripping action where a hand reaches into the frame to clasp mine; to convey the tension of being held captive yet yearning to resist, I consciously adjusted my center of gravity and tilted my head slightly upward, allowing light to filter through the hair and fall onto the crown.
The white puff sleeves of this outfit actually tend to broaden the shoulders, and combined with the black neck-and-shoulder inner layer, it placed high demands on posture; I deliberately kept my back straight during the shoot to preserve the character's cold detachment. The overall cool-toned lighting kept the scene remarkably clean without cluttered background distractions, focusing most attention on the character's gaze and facial details. The entire shooting process was smooth, and the synergy of posing and light capture achieved every desired effect.
