This Arknights Ambience Synesthesia Wishadel cosplay styling is finally out. I actually hesitated for a long time during the preparation phase. Because the costume design for this Ambience Synesthesia version has a lot of tension, combining traditional Chinese elements with a highly personalized techwear style. The top features a gradient patchwork design from dark gray and brownish-red to dark red, along with front cut-outs and waist tailoring, which heavily tests one's physique and requires certain muscle lines. The texture of the fur collar must be fluffy and soft; it was actually very warm during the actual shoot because it is so thick and heavy that it could even be used as a small blanket during shooting breaks.
The wig and hair accessories are the soul of this styling. The silvery-white short hair base is paired with distinct red highlights, especially the red hair on both sides of the cheeks and the bun styling on top of the head, making it highly recognizable. To maintain the fluffiness of the hair strands in front of the lens, I specially trimmed and styled the wig clump by clump before setting off, fearing it would collapse and affect the overall temperament. The black metal collar and pendant on the neck are also a key part of reproducing the character's details. I intentionally adjusted the tightness to ensure that whether from a frontal or profile angle, it creates a natural visual extension with the costume's neckline.
The scene on the shooting day was a Chinese style indoor setting, with dark wood floors, a wooden long couch, and a round moon gate with a glowing effect in the background, making the overall atmosphere unexpectedly harmonious with this costume. During the shoot, we tried several different postures and prop combinations. The folding fan with tassel decorations in my hand appeared as an interactive prop in the second photo, but I actually prefer the third posture—which is the one used as the cover. I think the most brilliant part of this outfit lies in its framing of proportions; the black shorts and leg ties paired with the black pointed-toe high heels with red bottoms can beautifully elongate the leg lines, visually leaning closer to the character's cool and confident vibe. When taking off the shoes completely to sit cross-legged on the ground in the first photo, there is a rare sense of relaxation, allowing a direct view of the foot details and casualness.
During the shooting process, the props actually added a lot of color to the frame. The scrolls, red strings, and the high heels taken off and left casually on the floor in the image all give the frame a slice-of-life narrative feel. This limited-edition Ambience Synesthesia look actually holds a high level of favorability in the hearts of fans. I tried my best to stick close to the original work in every detail, aiming to both capture the sharpness and combat attributes of the costume and cater to the players' expectation of her slightly mysterious and cool "Watchman Champion" atmosphere. With the entire makeup and light-and-shadow coordination, it can be considered worthy of my and my partner's hard work. Since I have always personally loved Arknights' world-building setting, especially the personality contrast of Wishadel, I tried to find a balance between lazy casualness and full aura when shooting this cosplay. Whether covering my face with a folding fan or sitting upright on the couch, every time I re-examine these photos, I can recall the concentration of repeatedly looking for light positions and constantly fine-tuning movements in the studio back then. Releasing photos is not the endgame; being able to reach some resonance with the character and present a vivid character image to everyone is the greatest meaning of every dedicated preparation.
