The main subject of this photoshoot is Theresa's Demon King form. The layering of this costume is extremely rich: the innermost layer is a black inner wear with lace trims, layered with a silk-textured top featuring dark patterns. The pleats and drape of the skirt show a texture under the lighting that photographs exceptionally well. The wig chosen is a silver-white long style with a natural gradient effect; the forehead section required proper fluffy base styling to match the character's design with special hair ornaments. To faithfully recreate the character's traits, pointed ear props were specially prepared, and capturing these details directly affects the overall styling accuracy. Regarding scene setup, we communicated with the photography team for a long time. To create that oppressive yet mysterious atmosphere, we chose an indoor location featuring classical stone pillars. The overall lighting extensively used a collision of magenta and dark red, utilizing high-intensity backlighting from the background to outline the character's silhouette. Light beams penetrated the tilted stone pillars, forming a very strong visual cutting effect. To enrich the frame elements, black metal birdcages were set up on site, embellished with some pink flowers, and huge chess pieces were placed in the foreground as foreground obstruction to increase the spatial layering and depth of the frame. In action design, the posture sitting on the throne required repeated adjustments. The Demon King form demands a state that is both effortless and overwhelming in momentum, so the sitting posture couldn't be completely relaxed; the waist and back had to stay upright without making the body look stiff. The action of lifting the right hand and the angle of the gaze were constantly communicated and confirmed with the photographer. The look in the eyes needed to be stern and penetrating, with the gaze tilted slightly downward, paired with a low-angle upward camera position to perfectly showcase the character's aura. Facing a strong backlit environment, the eyes easily watered due to the glaring light, making it necessary to rely on muscle memory to maintain expressions—trying hard to keep eyes wide open and focused while controlling a slight tuck of the chin to highlight facial contours. Various accessories on the costume also required constant attention during the shoot. The star-shaped pendant on the chest was prone to reflection under complex lighting, requiring continuous angle adjustments to avoid overly large areas of overexposure. When the skirt hem of the long dress spread out on the ground, I had to, either by myself or with logistics help, pull out nice shapes from the pleats bit by bit, making the black fabric look more substantial against the red background. Although it was a static photoshoot, this styling combined with props was actually very heavy, and holding a pose for more than a minute would make my shoulders start aching, but for the final visual effect, I had to grit my teeth and push through. The shooting process was also a journey of re-understanding the character. The character Theresa herself carries a strong tragic color and a complex background identity, and the Demon King form is an even more vivid embodiment of her extreme tension and contradiction. Through the reshaping of the costume, the enhancement of the environmental atmosphere, and the adjustment of my own state to infinitely approach that figure who left a deep mark in the grand narrative, that was the greatest reward of this photoshoot. Every time the shutter was pressed, it was a deep exploration of the character's personality, and I hope the final presented images can convey that sense of power transcending the screen.
