With the PI Expo wrapping up and the weather staying gorgeous, I pulled my photographer straight over to the adjacent park for an impromptu sunset overtime session. For this shoot, I showcased Rem's angelic look, featuring a pristine white off-shoulder ruffled dress paired with white lace-trimmed ankle socks, crowned by a halo and mini wing hair ornaments, with a set of white feathered wings strapped across my back. To forge an eye-catching aesthetic contrast, instead of a conventional botanical garden, we deliberately staged the shoot against industrial metal stairways and weathered blue railings.

In terms of camera gear, we brought along a Sony A7M5 body, primarily armed with the Viltrox 35mm F1.2 LAB and Viltrox 85mm F2 EVO lenses. The 35mm F1.2 LAB delivered remarkable textural depth for wide environmental full-body and medium compositions; its expansive maximum aperture kept background elements immaculately clean under afternoon sunbeams while maintaining crisp corner sharpness. The 85mm F2 EVO stepped in for tight close-ups and three-quarter busts—it proved delightfully lightweight and nimble, maintaining rock-solid autofocus with zero focus-hunting even directly against the blazing backlighting.

Natural daylight was spectacular on site. Early takes utilized front lighting: the azure sky was strikingly vivid and the overarching palette looked refreshingly crisp, letting the white dress pop with dimensional clarity while capturing every pleat and delicate lace contour of the skirt with pinpoint definition. As dusk approached, we transitioned into true Backlit portrait territory—sunlight sparkled across the rippling lake surface, outlining my entire silhouette in a luminous golden halo. The translucent feather tips of the wing prop caught the golden rim light brilliantly, outperforming our wildest expectations. Posing choreography spanned closed-eye prayers, shielding the eyes from glare, perched stair poses, and contemplative back views, leaning on the diagonal lines of the railings and steps to stretch compositional depth. White stockings and the off-shoulder cut resonated crisply against the muted grey-blue steps, yielding striking visual presence while side lighting accentuated sculpted, fluid leg contours.

The wig was a sky-blue short bob with straight blunt bangs, pinned on both flanks with clean white bobby clips. Cosmetics prioritized the eyes: smudging crimson-pink tones along the outer corners paired with bright blue contact lenses to evoke an ethereal, otherworldly aura. The park's industrial infrastructure and shimmering water created an intriguing thematic clash with the celestial angel motifs. Gusty breezes swept through between shutter bursts, occasionally tilting the wings askew and requiring frequent readjustments, yet this granted the feathers an organic, dynamic flutter. Overall, the shoot progressed effortlessly thanks to the open spatial freedom and unrestricted light. This overtime session proved immensely rewarding—putting a truly triumphant finishing touch on the PI Expo journey.
