The location for this shoot was a bar featuring vintage wooden structures and warm lighting, setting the stage for a Koyanskaya cosplay bunny girl style. To faithfully recreate Koyanskaya's distinctive aura, a lot of thought went into selecting the garment materials. The glossy red-and-pink spliced vest produces a vivid sheen under the lights, which, paired with a white ruffled shirt and a black bow tie, offers striking color contrast. The shiny black bunny ears and fluffy white pom-pom on my head accentuated her playful side, while the gold wire-rim square glasses injected a calm, dangerous edge into the playfulness. On the lower body, the white stockings stood out brilliantly in the dimly lit bar cosplay atmosphere, coordinating with the brown vintage leather sofa to create layered visual depth.
In terms of props, I prepared a black sniper rifle equipped with a scope and a glass filled with amber liquid. The sniper rifle was huge and had significant weight in hand; this heft actually helped me ground my center of gravity to convey an imposing sense of control while posing. The pose holding the drink was aimed at capturing Koyanskaya's effortless composure, languid grace, and subtle teasing demeanor when handling commissions. For facial expressions, I maintained a seemingly polite smile paired with eyes that were anything but friendly, aiming to capture the essence of a villainous woman.
Lighting setup on set was crucial. To complement the bar ambiance, the key light utilized warm yellowish diffused light hitting from the front-side, carving soft highlights across my face and the vest's glossy fabric. The liquor cabinet in the background was softened with a wide aperture, forming beautiful bokeh circles that made the subject pop from the backdrop. During the shoot, because the sniper rifle was quite long, it easily cropped out of frame, requiring constant adjustments to body angles and camera framing. Sitting on the leather chair with one leg naturally bent not only highlighted the texture of the white stockings, but also balanced the overall composition.
Regarding Koyanskaya as a character, her complex multifaceted nature is endlessly fascinating—possessing both the lethal precision of a weapon and an alluring, calculating charm. Choosing a bar setting was meant to amplify her volatile, dangerous nature within a casual yet slightly ambiguous space. From prop preparation to outfit coordination, every detail served to convey the tension of surviving as a femme fatale.
