[Amiya cosplay] The Refreshing Summer of Arknights, Firefly ACG Expo Convention Photos

For this cosplay photography, a Godox ML100Bi was used as the key light, and an AD200 was used for the backlight. The key light provided a very full and soft skin texture, while the AD200 backlight perfectly outlined the hair strands and the silhouette of the rabbit-eared straw hat, forming a reasonable contrast of light and shadow in the bright glass curtain wall environment to make the overall layers more three-dimensional. The large area of the glass curtain wall came with its own reflective effect, serving as both ambient light and keeping the surrounding light from being too harsh. This dual-light configuration indeed played a crucial role at the complex convention venue.

The costume design opted for a relatively refreshing and casual summer-oriented outfit, with the main color palette featuring a pink, white, and blue plaid off-the-shoulder short top, paired with light-colored denim shorts. Guangzhou in May is already very hot, so wearing this cool style makes running around the convention much more comfortable. The straw hat on the head had a straw-woven texture, with pink and white decorative flowers and white ribbons added to both sides. Combined with the plush rabbit ears, it blended beautifully with the overall casual style. Accessories included a blue choker and thigh ring, echoing the tone of the bag, making the overall color coordination quite unified.

In terms of props, the handheld round fan and the light blue small bag slung over the shoulder served as very important embellishments. A small plush rabbit doll was added to the backpack's charm area; these minor elements gave the entire look a more slice-of-life feel. During the shoot, I chose to sit on a yellow bench. The lines of the bench formed great leading lines in the frame, and backing against the metal railing made the ambient light very comfortable. When sitting, slightly bending or crossing the legs could nicely extend the visual proportions. For the standing photo, I chose a hands-on-hips pose, which relatively completely displayed the tailoring details of the crop top and shorts, while keeping the center of gravity stable.

The shooting location was situated at the edge of the Firefly ACG Expo venue, deliberately avoiding the crowded main aisles and utilizing the live environment of the public area for creation. In such a space, the light translucency was excellent, and the reflection of the glass also supplemented the brightness of the partially shaded areas, making the overall image quality very bright. Because I didn't want to look rigid, I tried my best to relax my movements and expressions, setting the atmosphere of the photos as a casual, slice-of-life outing status.

Actually, cosplay is not just about pursuing the recreation of highlight moments in the plot; lightweight stylings like this, which integrate character traits into daily wear, can similarly convey another facet of the character. With appropriate dual-light arrangement and composition, bringing the character into a real-world venue often creates an unexpected contrast effect. This shoot at the Firefly ACG Expo went smoothly, and the two Godox lights perfectly resolved the issues of skin tone color cast and excessive shadows caused by various complex ambient lights on-site. Being able to preserve my understanding of this outfit here through light and shadow was a very joyful experience, as well as a concrete record of this summer's convention photos.
