I've always wanted to try this Phantom Thief W look, and I finally captured satisfying Cosplay convention photos at the Arknights Only event. The indoor marble wall background paired surprisingly well with this glossy black leather outfit, giving off amazing texture.
To showcase the best silhouette of this outfit, I specifically paired it with black over-the-knee boots and Black stockings on the legs, complemented by leather gloves and the mask in hand. The leather fabric of this costume catches harsh reflections easily, demanding high precision from the lighting; my photographer friend Mu Bai had me readjust my poses several times to find the optimal lighting angles. Especially for the shot with one leg lifted, keeping balance was quite challenging. The mask prop was custom-made, and the demon tail had noticeable weight, requiring care to keep its upward curve while walking. The atmosphere at the Arknights Only event was fantastic, and many passing players recognized this iconic W look, giving me lots of encouragement.
Wearing this glossy leather costume at the convention was actually quite hot and stuffy, but it is an integral part of the character design. We rotated through several angles during the shoot: the leg-lifted pose showcased the leg lines and the texture of the over-the-knee boots beautifully, while crossing my arms or resting a finger against my lips captured the Phantom Thief's distinctive provocative, cynical edge. In post-production, we preserved the fabric's natural glossy sheen to reinforce the mysterious and dangerous aura of a phantom thief. Being able to bring this character to life so completely made every minute spent adjusting those straps in the hotel room feel completely worthwhile. That wraps up this photo share—I really love this styling, and when time permits, I'll definitely explore more classic outfits for this same character.
