A lot of effort went into the preparation for this Wuthering Waves cosplay-themed shoot. The costume chosen was a pure white off-the-shoulder lace dress with an expansive flared hem; its structured material held a lovely, voluminous curve. The trickiest part was arranging the red strings across the chest and abdomen—achieving a silhouette reminiscent of subtle Red string bondage aesthetics without pinching the skin took extensive adjustment. Accented with red spider lilies, a mint-green wig, and red eye makeup, the styling created a bold color contrast against the dark red backdrop.
During the shoot, a single-sided light source was used so the illumination fell across the semi-sheer White stockings, clearly highlighting natural skin texture and the intricate lace patterns along the chest. Sitting on a dark brown leather sofa beside Roman pillars and a vintage birdcage brought out the Gothic and mysterious atmosphere of the whole set. For makeup, we emphasized reddish outer eye corners and a blood-streak effect under the left eye, which, combined with a detached, cold gaze, perfectly matched the delicate, fragile concept.
Because the skirt was on the shorter side, sitting down gracefully highlighted the leg lines, delivering fantastic visuals when paired with the texture of the White stockings. I tried various subtle gestures—such as lifting a wine glass or lightly brushing my fingers against the red cords on my chest—which worked wonderfully for Anime-style photography. The overall color tone was precisely controlled to avoid overexposing the whites while keeping the red cords rich and retaining detail in the shadows, with post-processing focusing on preserving natural body proportions and authentic lighting. The shoot tested movement and spatial coordination since the cords and hem easily tangled, but the photographer captured moments swiftly with seamless angle switches. I am very pleased with the final texture of this set, making it one of my favorite projects.
