For this set of photos, the part that took the most effort was actually this wig. To recreate Emilia's tied-hair styling, I repeatedly adjusted and teased the hair fibers several times. The hairline treatment of the wig is especially crucial; it shouldn't be too flat against the scalp to look unnatural, and the curves of the bangs and sideburns also need careful trimming to flatter the face shape. With white hair accessories added as accents, it achieved that fluffy yet realistic texture in the photos. Of course, as an elf, the iconic pointy ear props are also essential equipment; once worn, that unique atmosphere from another world is instantly maximized. Although the process of making the wig yourself is tedious and requires continuous trial fitting, adjusting layers and hair volume, the final result makes me feel it was completely worth it.
Regarding the clothing combination, the dress I wore this time, which is predominantly white with purple piped accents, has a very rich sense of layering. The upper body tailoring is fitted, spliced with lace and purple decorative bands, and the waist-cinching design greatly elongates the body proportions. The detachable wide flared sleeves worn over it are printed with symmetrical golden geometric patterns, and the material is lightweight. When moving, the skirt hem and sleeves flutter together in the wind, creating a special visual effect. The material of the clothing was also chosen with great care; the inner fabric has a slight gloss, emitting a soft sheen under sunlight, while the outer sleeve fabric leans more towards matte, and the combination of the two keeps the overall styling from looking too monotonous. Because of the short skirt design, to increase the overall visual elongation, I paired it with white over-the-knee long stockings featuring black zigzag decoration at the cuffs, and stepped into a pair of white pointed-toe high heels. Such a combination not only beautifully elongates the leg lines and showcases the layers of the outfit in front of the camera, but also adds a touch of playfulness and elegance. The material of the over-the-knee stockings is also crucial; you need to choose a fabric with high fit and low reflectivity so that the texture captured by the camera appears delicate.
The sunlight on the day of the shoot was fantastic, with abundant light and shadow. The photographer Fengyu Laiji chose this European-style architecture with arches and Roman columns as the background. The beige walls and white clothing formed a wonderful color layer echo, and the bright sunlight greatly enhanced the transparency of the photos. To show a better effect, I designed some poses. For the first composition, where I sat sideways on a low wall, I deliberately crossed my legs, tilted my body slightly, and lightly touched my cheek with one hand. This naturally showcased the combination of over-the-knee stockings and high heels while allowing the wide sleeve hems to spread out naturally, forming nice lines. For the second frontal posture, by lifting both arms, the overall styling appeared more dignified and lively, while fully displaying the fold layers of the skirt hem.
From the preliminary preparation of the wig and clothing to the on-site cooperation with the photographer, every step was an effort to get close to the character's pure essence. Although making the wig yourself was time-consuming and laborious, the moment I saw the final photos, I felt all the hard work was worth it. I hope this set of photos carrying the warmth of the sun lets everyone feel the character's charm.
