This set of Convention photos for Genshin Impact Barbara in her Swimsuit (Barbara Cosplay) was mainly shot during breaks at an anime convention, themed around the conceptual visual of 'taking Barbara to the beach.' I initially wanted to shoot at an actual beach, but considering tight schedules, I opted for the convention hall venue instead.

The hall floor was made of gray reflective tiles, which looked rather cold and rigid, so before the shoot, I specifically brought a large white fluffy plush rug to lay on the ground. This not only insulated against the cold gray floor, but also created a sharp contrast in the frame, making the subject instantly pop from the background.

Regarding the outfit, this Barbara Swimsuit cut is designed with rich layers: the outer white lace cover-up with a blue sailor collar, the large golden bow on the chest, along with the headpiece and thigh ring, making the overall look very substantial. The yellow duck bag was the soul of this styling—acting as a vibrant bright yellow accent that broke up the monotony of the cool blue-and-white palette.

In terms of posing, considering the specific nature of a Swimsuit, I mainly used seated and kneeling poses. For example, in the frontal seated pose shown in the photo, bending my knees slightly apart not only concealed flaws near the upper thighs, but also utilized perspective foreshortening to make the legs look more slender. To highlight Barbara's soft, adorable, and energetic vibe, I posed with both fists clenched cutely before my chest, looking directly into the lens to establish an emotional connection.

A reflector was vital during the shoot. For a character designed with fair skin, the overhead convention lights easily cast unflattering shadows, especially under the chin. I adjusted the reflector angle to bounce soft fill light onto my chest and face, rendering smooth skin texture with great translucency.

During post-processing, I didn't make drastic alterations, mainly tuning skin tones and adding a touch of slightly overexposed Japanese-style brightness, while preserving the classic primary color scheme of blue, white, and yellow for a fresher feel in this Anime-style photography set.

Regarding costume details, the wig took the most effort to style. To maintain fullness and volume in the twintails, I spent significant effort setting it to ensure there were no messy flyaways. The positioning of the blue choker was also key; it needed to sit snugly against the neck to visually slim the face. The thigh ring is an important accessory to accentuate body proportions, positioned just right—neither too loose to look sloppy nor too tight to dig in—details that required careful consideration before shooting.

To convey that crisp, refreshing swimsuit vibe, I intentionally applied highlighter across my collarbones and shoulders. For lighting, the left reflector brightened the subject while the right side retained subtle shadows for three-dimensional depth. The yellow duck prop, whether held in hand or placed beside me, enhanced subject-setting interaction. For composition, I primarily used centered framing with the lens at eye-level tilted slightly upward, effectively avoiding wide-angle distortion. The essence of this set lies in conveying that breezy seaside anticipation even without being at the beach, which is the core spirit of Barbara in the original Genshin Impact design.
