The runway return photos from October 3rd have finally been sorted out. This time I'm cosplaying the Swan Lake version of Furina. Actually, I prepared for this look for quite a long time. Ever since I got this outfit, I've been pondering over the details. This Swan Lake-themed dress has an exceptionally strong sense of layering, and the arc of each layer of sheer gauze needed adjustment. To get that lightweight and flowing feel under stage lighting, I made quite a few minor improvements to the lining and support. The blue gemstone pendant and pearl string ornaments at the waist were also repeatedly checked for position to ensure they would reflect light naturally while walking, adding a touch of agility.
Styling the wig was also a major project; the white-to-blue gradient short hair needed to be styled to capture that natural yet slightly wavy beauty, and the small silver crown and crescent hair ornaments on top had to be fixed very securely since runway movements have a wide range, and I definitely couldn't mess up on stage. In terms of makeup, to match the strong lighting of the exhibition hall, the base makeup was made quite translucent, with blue contact lenses echoing the red-pink eyeshadow at the outer corners of the eyes, hoping to restore the character's spirited look. Since my eyes are relatively round, to fit the character's temperament, the eyeliner was deliberately elongated and upturned, and I practiced expression management in front of the mirror in the backstage several times.
The moment I stood on stage, it felt truly magical. The blue main-toned floor mat and the entire big screen background, paired with this outfit, maxed out the ambiance. Doing a runway show is completely different from standing around in the exhibition area; it requires constant attention to posture and pacing. Because the skirt hem is relatively short and in a fluffy skirt style, walking the runway requires extra care, controlling the range of turns and steps to walk steadily while showcasing the character's confidence mixed with a hint of playfulness. The moment I raised both hands to greet everyone and heard the shutter sounds from the audience, I felt a strong sense of accomplishment.
Although this outfit looks ethereal, wearing it is indeed a bit of a test. With the waist-cinching design and the back straps, I hardly dared to eat much before going on stage to maintain a good figure. However, seeing the drape of the skirt hem and the overall gloss in the return photos made all the hard work feel worth it. The stage lighting was very bright, making it hard to see the faces of the audience clearly, but I could feel that enthusiastic atmosphere. When striking fixed poses on stage, I could feel several camera lenses aimed right at me, and at that moment, I truly felt like the focus under the spotlight. I'm really grateful to the photographers down stage holding long lenses for making me look so good, and also to my friends who helped me manage my styling and logistics; without them, I certainly couldn't have handled such complex styling alone.
The runway experience at this convention was truly fantastic, and it taught me a lot about stage presence. Every time I put on this outfit, I can experience a different feeling. Moving forward, I will continue to study the character's styling and stage movements, hoping to present an even better state at the next convention. See you on the next stage!
