[Sayu cosplay] Teyvat Transport Vehicle Operation Journal with a Touch of Regret

This set of Sayu photos was shot a few days ago during a Japanese-style studio photography session. Truth be told, I wasn't really satisfied with my condition on the day of the shoot, so seeing the retouched images, I could indeed feel some slight slips in facial expression management, as I mentioned in my feed—a bit disheartened and helpless. However, now that the photos are finished, putting aside those feelings and looking closely at the big picture, the outfit texture and overall spatial atmosphere actually conveyed very well. Today, let's talk about the fun BTS moments behind this shoot as a review of this set.

First of all, I must give high marks to the design accuracy and craftsmanship of this outfit. The most eye-catching part of the entire look is this huge off-white hood featuring bear ears, edged with dark brown piping. The cutest detail is the 3D green leaf right in the middle of the head, identical to the original design and highly recognizable. The main body of the outfit consists of a dark blue-violet split shawl top paired with an off-white inner layer, presenting a very refreshing and natural color combination. The wide orange-red obi at the waist effectively divides upper and lower body proportions while keeping the outfit from looking dull. Combined with black fingerless leather gloves, as well as orange cord knots and red tassels on the arms, these small accessories richly enhance the overall styling.

The leg styling also involved a lot of thought. The black mesh stockings at the thighs not only flatter leg lines, but also nicely balance out the heavy winter-apparel feel of the upper body. The leg ring design aligns with character lore while adding a touch of playful anime charm. What satisfied me most were the shoes: dark navy-black split-toe sandals incorporating Japanese tabi elements, highlighted by striking orange straps on top and finished with small golden bells as a sparkling touch. Sitting cross-legged on tatami mats wearing this, I truly felt transported to Inazuma.

Having covered the outfit, let's talk about the set decoration. I personally adored this shooting environment; it was overflowing with authentic Japanese aesthetics. The background featured woven bamboo screens hung with blue wave-pattern scroll paintings, fronted by a wooden low cabinet displaying delicate Japanese dolls and celadon porcelain vases. Green-bordered tatami mats covered the floor, with the round Mujina plush pillow resting casually alongside. This environment matched the character's temperament seamlessly, creating a warm, cozy, lazy, and slightly fantastical home atmosphere.

There was actually a huge challenge in this shoot: recreating the character's visual sense of a small physique. Since my height isn't particularly petite, I relied heavily on seated and cross-legged poses during filming—such as holding hands near my chest like cat paws in the photo, or sitting sideways on that brown fluffy tail pillow while looking at the camera. These postures required not only subtle post-processing tweaks, but curling my body tightly during the shoot. However, the downside of doing so was that if balance faltered slightly, facial muscles tense up involuntarily, leading to stiff or awkward expressions. This clearly explains why there was a "facial expression slip" this time.

In my view, engaging in Roleplay or cosplay doesn't mean every photo must be as flawless as a movie poster; that authentic, slightly imperfect cuteness often gives the character even more vitality. Though the facial expression slipped a bit this time, I poured my utmost effort into bringing out the outfit and overall character temperament. Next time, I hope to better master facial expression control under demanding poses, presenting a more spirited and fluid side. For me, putting on these meticulously crafted outfits and collaborating with photographers and prop masters to restore images from the 2D world is inherently fulfilling. Although this experience brought a touch of regret, it serves as my greatest motivation to keep pushing forward and enhancing my expressive power in Casual cosplay.
