[Bai Feng cosplay] Pure White Japanese Style Look and Transparent Folding Fan: A Convention Record

Putting on this white suit for Bai Feng cosplay and completing the setup and on-site shoot definitely required time and patience. White is the dominant color, with dark purple-black edging on the cuffs and borders to enhance layering. Clear embroidery on the wide white sleeves depicts three-dimensional feather patterns, fitting the character's temperament perfectly. The huge white bow on the chest and the dark broad waist sash form a subtle visual balance, bringing a sense of structure to the pure white ensemble. For the lower half, shorts paired with pure white tights in a White thigh-highs outfit, along with transparent block-heeled sandals, maintain high color consistency while visually extending leg lines nicely.

I specially prepared a semi-transparent lace folding fan as the finishing prop for this look. The hollowed-out patterns on this fan are exquisite, featuring a tassel at the pendant that adds dynamic flair when waved on site. In Photo 1, I sit on a white folding ladder with legs naturally crossed, gently pinching a strand of wig hair with my left hand while holding the fan, presenting a gentle and composure-filled state. Photo 2 switches to standing on one leg with the other leg bent and raised, holding the fan at my side with the other arm extended outward to demonstrate the flow and tension of the costume's large sleeves.

During this shoot at the event, bright overhead ceiling lights and metal truss structures made the background cluttered, so framing choices were crucial to avoid chaotic backgrounds in Convention photography. For my hair and makeup, the silver-white wig was styled with specific curvature, while the white feather decoration on top and black-and-white bows on the side served as key character traits. To keep this pure white look clean throughout shooting, I carefully avoided dragging clothes on the floor—choosing a seated pose in Photo 1 was precisely out of this consideration while giving the photographer more composition choices.

The garment fabric carries nice drape, so the sleeves flutter with movement, though walking through crowds required slowing down to avoid stepping on sleeve cuffs. I practiced the single-leg standing pose in Photo 2 several times beforehand; once balance was mastered, the shot went smoothly, and despite being somewhat exhausting on site, the final result was deeply satisfying. Playing with this transparent folding fan, I noticed how it echoed nicely in texture with the white tights and clear heels, enhancing the overall translucency and lightness of the frame. Many fellow fans at the venue asked about costume details, including how the embroidery was made; such interactions are truly a fun part of cosplay culture.

Overall, this shoot was not only a test of costume and props, but also a challenge to my own body control. From the quiet seated pose in Photo 1 to the dynamic posture in Photo 2, every frame encapsulated a distinct interpretation of the character's traits. The dominant white tone enhanced visual recognition while demanding precise exposure from the photographer.
