The wide-span truss structure and expansive space of the indoor convention venue are actually ideal for presenting Yixuan's crisp, cool aura. The focus of this shoot was primarily on the reflective texture of the costume materials and the extension of body lines. The proportion and placement of the black, white, and red color palette formed a striking visual focus in the frame.
For the outfit, I chose a glossy Black leather jacket. Under the natural light coming from the ceiling of the exhibition center, this material creates gorgeous light-to-shadow transitional lines, while the jacket's supple yet structured feel perfectly supports the character's temperament. The metal hardware on the cuffs and buckles was finely detailed—though subtle, it contributed greatly to the completeness of the overall styling. Meanwhile, the long straight silver-white hair is a crucial visual symbol for this character; its smoothness and drape had to be maintained so that it wouldn't look messy when bending over, instead forming a natural curve with the movement.
The highlight of the lower body lies in the back seam of the black stockings—that straight back seam fits the lines of the legs perfectly, effectively elongating visual proportions in this Black stockings cosplay. For footwear, I opted for glossy black platform high heels with red soles. The heel height brought considerable pressure, but to match the character's presence and the tension of the photo, controlling posture and angle became vital. When striking this pronounced bent-over pose, the core had to remain tightened throughout to avoid losing balance, while also managing muscle control in the legs to keep the calf lines smooth, which was quite an endurance test.
The composition utilized a low-angle shot combined with the dark reflective floor in the foreground to expand the sense of space, accentuating the extending lines of the high heels and long legs. Ambient light filtered through large glass windows, blending the softness of external natural light with cool-toned indoor fill light, which harmonized well with the texture of the Black leather jacket. There was no need to rely heavily on post-processing; retaining the natural flow of clothing folds and slight scuffs on the shoe soles made the on-site Convention photos feel much more authentic.
Bringing Yixuan to life goes beyond costumes and props; it requires capturing her sharp, distant, yet decisive demeanor from the game. In the relatively cluttered environment of a convention, controlling posture and gaze helped maintain an aloof sense of personal space apart from the background. This was also a personal breakthrough for me, as I rarely tried combining such wide dynamic poses with high heels before, but on-site adjustments and practice were essential to achieve a look faithful to the character.
The overall styling leans toward cool composure and tension. The pairing of a leather jacket and stockings inherently provides clear visual guidance, while the pop of bright red under the shoes adds a dash of vibrant contrast to the predominantly black-and-white palette. Through these photos, I hope to convey the character's unique power in dynamic moments—not just a simple costume showcase, but an attempt to fuse character personality with my own interpretation.
