Shooting this Honor of Kings Raiden Ei cosplay look, the overall focus was placed on reproducing gear texture and the character's sharp combat aura. Although there wasn't a lengthy essay in the post description, the moment I received this costume and props, I realized that portraying this character heavily tests the synergy between hair/makeup and body posture.

What I found most interesting was the asymmetrical design of this outfit. The main body of the costume utilizes a black composite leather fabric, which presents an exceptional leather sheen under the studio top lighting at the anime convention, making the upper body look both heavily armed for combat without feeling overly dull. The leather coat features a silver-grey collar spliced at the neckline, along with red geometric cutouts across the chest and abdomen, constructing crisp visual layers using rigid materials. To prevent accidental exposure and enhance outfit fit, I wore a one-piece tight base layer underneath. Although the venue temperature was quite high on the day of the shoot, I endured the stuffy heat to maintain the crisp silhouette of the leather jacket.

The gear on my hands was crafted with equal care. My left hand wore a black-and-white color-blocked hollow bracer, with black leather straps wrapped tightly around the arm, paired with full-finger leather gloves to showcase intense combat readiness and aggression under close-up shots. This asymmetrical design philosophy extends down to the lower body as part of the overall Stocking outfit: one side features semi-sheer black stockings overlaid with fluid white water-wave lines, paired with a black leather thigh ring with a red square metal buckle; the other side features pure white over-the-knee socks, stepped into black high-heeled patent leather ankle boots. The visual contrast is extremely striking; especially in full-body compositions, the asymmetrical leg details balance the visual center of gravity beautifully.

For facial makeup, I selected amber-colored contact lenses to enhance the sharpness and mystery of my gaze, paired with finely trimmed false eyelashes and natural rosy lip makeup. This not only echoes the red-and-black tone of the costume but also highlights the character's 3D facial features. The hair color adopted a dip-dye design: long straight white hair as the main body, with red gradients and highlights extending from the top to the bangs, while a few red decorative hair strands were hidden within, resembling flowing flames or energy beams. To complement this hair color, the wig was hand-trimmed with layers, deliberately preserving airiness so it flutters dynamically during movement.

The anime convention environment was more complex than expected, especially with those sharp red fragment props floating around. These fragments are made of semi-transparent red acrylic; without a light source, they look somewhat like crystals, but under the site's spotlights, they produce a crystal-clear refractive effect, visually resembling energy crystals hovering around the character. To secure these floating props, transparent acrylic mounts were hidden inside, requiring me to deliberately adjust my standing position and arm angles when posing so that these red shards maintained a proper spatial relationship with my body.

In terms of pose design, I experimented with a few different styles. The first was an expansive combat stance: one leg slightly bent, arms fully open, creating a high-tension radial composition alongside the surrounding red fragments, perfect for showcasing the extended lines of the body. The second was a nimble expression in half-body close-ups: lightly resting my chin on my hand or gently touching my cheek, giving the serious outfit a playful, lighthearted vibe. The shooting environment consisted mostly of black backdrops and stage lights, where the dark surroundings actually highlighted the character and red props much better for these Convention photos. From preparing the costume and tweaking props to final image delivery, the entire process was physically demanding, but seeing these rich, glossy photos made every detail deliberation and on-site adjustment feel worthwhile. Combining techwear aesthetics and combat style with character traits from Honor of Kings, this Cosplay outfit achieved a multi-layered collision of black, white, red, and silver-grey. Finally, I'd like to say that styling that relies heavily on props and costume layers severely tests the overall logic of outfit assembly, and I'm thrilled to have turned these ideas into reality together with the photographer.
