[Ptilopsis cosplay] Arknights Ptilopsis Touching the Clouds: A Ethereal, Cool Moment Beneath the Moon

For this Touching the Clouds look of Ptilopsis, the overall visual ambiance was designed around the Mid-Autumn Festival and moonlit night. To fit the theme of the moon traversing over water, we put significant effort into set design, choosing a massive luminous moon as our primary ambient light source. Paired with blue-and-white cherry blossom boughs and dark wooden window latticework, it constructed an evening realm filled with Eastern fantasy aesthetics.

Regarding the outfit, the core garment is a white bandeau top outlined with blue piping, accented visually by a gold bow and blue braided cords across the chest. To recreate the character's canon presence, I styled the silver-gray twintail wig and firmly secured the beast-ear hair accessories with black-feathered detailing. The makeup emphasized blended crimson eyeshadow and a red floral bindi (huadian) between the brows, which, paired with light amber contact lenses, gave off a distinctive, otherworldly cool detachment.

During the shoot, props played a vital role in shaping the character's persona. Using a round hand fan painted with landscape ink-wash art to subtly veil the gaze, or opening an oil-paper umbrella adorned with floral motifs, greatly enriched the visual layering. In the high-angle shot in Photo 4, reaching with one hand to gently touch the flowering branch not only accentuated the collarbones and neckline from that camera height, but also made the gaze feel much more evocative. In Photo 1, the kneeling pose on the ground highlighted the White stockings and leg contours. When staging this pose, to prevent the hemline from looking messy, I painstakingly smoothed out the sheer translucent gossamer so that it draped outward in a natural, elegant spread.

For lighting, cool-toned ambient light illuminated the white fabrics and White stockings, casting a delicate, ethereal rim-light along the subject's edges—a flawless fit for the theme. We tried many new adjustments in both posing choreography and lighting calibration throughout the shoot, and we truly hope you can feel this serene, moonlit tranquility.
