I tried a Fan-made design cosplay for Li Tianxi from Link Click. During preparation, selecting the outfit took the most time. Since it was an original fan interpretation rather than a strict canon recreation, I deliberately opted for this layered white tulle gown. While putting it on and taking it off was fairly tedious across multiple layers, its light-transmitting effect under dim, backlit streetlights was outstanding, creating a distinct rim light along the hem that made post-processing much smoother. For makeup, I wore pink contact lenses, keeping the eye makeup subdued to make the eyes pop, with an entirely matte base. The wig was custom-made; shaping the precise curve of the Pink twin tails with a curling iron and setting spray took over an hour. With greater creative freedom in this fan design, I added a muted dark red lip to anchor the bright highlights of the overall look.
The location was a quiet park path at night, where the primary light source was a single streetlight positioned behind me. Strong backlighting posed significant challenges for Night photography, making a reflector essential to illuminate my face and prevent it from falling completely into shadow. The session lasted roughly two hours, with considerable time spent waiting for passersby to clear to avoid messy silhouettes. The first photo features a frontal stance with my torso angled slightly toward the camera, highlighting the styling and the airy texture of the tulle dress. The second photo, with hands covering my face, was intended to evoke vulnerability and avoidance. The trickiest part throughout was continuously adjusting camera angles to capture the circular bokeh of the background streetlight while keeping facial exposure balanced. In post-processing, I mainly darkened the background, lifted the highlights on the dress tulle, and preserved natural skin textures without excessive smoothing to maintain an authentic feel. Overall, shooting this Fan-made design cosplay felt much freer than canon designs, allowing me to explore styles I rarely touch. The resulting quiet ambiance—blending cool shadows with warm streetlight glow—was very satisfying, making for a truly complete personal creative experience.
