[Takanashi Hoshino cosplay] Blue Archive white studio photography record

This time, I shot the Takanashi Hoshino cosplay from Blue Archive in a pure white studio. The overall lighting is very transparent, with the focus entirely placed on the presentation of the character styling and costume details. To get close to the character's lazy yet slightly playful temperament, I chose a white off-the-shoulder hoodie with a very loose fit. The long pink hair needed to be combed very smoothly so it wouldn't look frizzy under the strong studio lights, so a lot of time was spent beforehand on wig grooming and styling. The binding of the Pink twin tails also restored the setting as much as possible, with red hair ties added as a visual popping point. The white cat-ear hair accessory and halo-like structure worn on top of the head, as well as the white collar and golden bell around the neck, are core elements of the entire styling. In terms of makeup, a large area of pink blush combined with green contact lenses, paired with light-colored clothing, created a transparent cute atmosphere.

In terms of action design, I referred to Takanashi Hoshino's classic photo poses. For example, raising one hand into a fist and placing it beside the head to show an energetic posture, while the right hand naturally holds that white wrinkled cloth bag. Since the background is pure white without environmental props to support it, all emotions must be expressed through body language. When standing, the body's center of gravity is slightly shifted to avoid a rigid image. To showcase the off-the-shoulder design of the outfit, the position of the neckline needed to be constantly adjusted during the minor pose adjustments to ensure smooth lines. The white Mary Jane shoes worn on the feet paired with socks featuring small patterns not only elongated the leg lines, but also increased the layering of the outfit, compensating for the monotony caused by the lack of environmental elements in the white studio.

It must be mentioned that White studio photography has extremely high requirements for lighting. Without the assistance of ambient light, photographer Xuanxia put a lot of thought into lighting, which eliminated unnecessary facial shadows while preserving the wrinkle texture of the clothes, making the image look soft and layered. This pure white high-key photography style has a very low fault tolerance for details; any stray hair or uneven wrinkles on the clothes will be magnified. Therefore, during shooting breaks, I was constantly tidying up my clothes and adjusting my hair. During shooting, different angles were tried, from eye-level to a slight low angle, and through continuous communication and adjustment, the most perfect perspective for presenting this white outfit was finally found.

The overall shooting process was very smooth. Due to the single color of the costume, the visual focus fell entirely on the character's expression and hand movements, which required the gaze to be focused and expressive. This attempt gave me a deeper understanding of high-key photography and discovered more possibilities for myself in front of the lens. In the future, I will continue to learn and accumulate, incorporating more thinking and details when shaping different characters.
