[Misono Mika cosplay] The Angel Halo of Blue Archive, Everyday Life with White Dresses and Firearms

For this Misono Mika cosplay, a lot of effort went into the preparation of costumes and props. The light pink long hair paired with straight bangs, decorated with pale blue flower hair accessories, appears particularly translucent in natural light. The halo above my head, featuring white stars and light effects, is one of the core elements of this angel styling. Shooting against a church-style wooden background, combined with the large white feathered wings behind me, creates an innate sense of holiness. I particularly love the details of the outfit: the sailor-style light blue collar, paired with a deep blue bow tie, with a cross-shaped accessory embedded in the center. The lace trimming on the skirt is richly layered, and the gold embroidery on the cuffs and hem attempts to stay true to the texture of the official character art.

In the actual shooting process, using the props was more interesting than I imagined. Although the toy rifle looked lightweight, adjusting the center of gravity was necessary to pull off the sitting pose in photo 4. Combined with the white fluffy bird plushie on the ground and the bouquet next to it, I wanted to present an atmosphere that retains both combat elements and daily softness. Photos 2 and 3 are candid shots taken during breaks, with a strawberry cake roll in hand; the pink filling coordinates perfectly with the character's overall color scheme, and that moment of 'enjoying dessert with a touch of playfulness' feels more natural than posed shots. The wooden platform indoors was perfect for photography; sunlight streamed through the windows, creating geometric light and shadow on the steps. Combined with backlighting, it gave the edges of the white dress and wig a soft halo.

Actually, during the interaction for this shoot, I kept thinking about the question, 'Is Mika a bad girl?' With an angelic appearance and soft exterior, yet holding a weapon, this contrast is precisely what makes this character charming and why I wanted to try interpreting her. In front of the lens, I controlled my micro-expressions and body movements to be softer. For example, in photo 5, while holding a bouquet of champagne roses and baby's breath, I deliberately lowered my gaze to highlight a sense of quiet innocence. Of course, I also coordinated with the pose in photo 1, holding the gun with one hand and looking straight at the camera, as well as the colder state in photo 6 while sitting on the bench, to show the multiple layers that might exist in her personality. After all, when doing cosplay, it's not just about wearing the clothes, but also understanding her background and story.

Taking on this Misono Mika shoot, from wig styling to costume adjustments and prop preparation, took quite a lot of time. To achieve the effect in the pictures, a great deal of effort went into styling the wig; after all, for the pink to look bright and even, it requires very meticulous combing and setting. Putting on the wings also tested the costume technician's skills; they had to ensure they wouldn't sag or fall off at various angles, while also ensuring they wouldn't block too much space in an indoor environment. The photographer's lighting was crucial; the natural light itself brought a soft pink-toned texture, allowing the final photos to be clean and bright without too much color stacking in post-processing. I personally think the most successful point of this set is combining the holiness of an 'angel' with the liveliness of a 'girl'. There were quite a few minor incidents during the shoot, such as the rifle often slipping due to gravity shifts, and the cake on the tray being hard to hold steady. But it was these real interactions that gave the final photos a sense of life. I didn't deliberately pursue a cold or overly rigid recreation, but rather hoped to convey a living, warm Misono Mika. When wearing this costume, there was a strange sense of time-space overlapping, as if I had truly stepped into the world of Blue Archive. Looking back at the original files after finishing, I was almost reluctant to take this outfit off. Finally, I hope these photos, imbued with the scent of sunshine, allow everyone to see a different Misono Mika—not just stuck in surface fantasies, but also possessing her own daily life and tenderness.
