This time, I prepared a comfortable and lazy cat-like girl outfit to visit the anime convention. The core of the entire look is this loose white printed T-shirt; it has an oversized fit, and wearing it off-the-shoulder turned out unexpectedly well. For the lower body, I paired it with white safety shorts and a pair of white over-the-knee socks. Along with the prominent large orange collar and that fluffy cat tail behind me, the "cat elements" were completely maxed out. For my face, I specifically chose a light gold long straight wig with bangs, paired with blue-gray colored contacts and a lip piercing decoration, neutralizing the pure cuteness with a touch of personal flair. Makeup for this style doesn't need to be too heavy; a clean and transparent base is just perfect.
The shooting background was inside a convention exhibition hall, where the polished marble floor provided an excellent reflection effect, which added a translucent texture to the entire photo set. For shooting this cute style, props are truly critical. The khaki folding camping wagon used this time can be called a masterpiece for taking photos—it serves as a chair to sit on and allows me to curl up inside to stretch. There was absolutely no need for forced posing in the photos; most were casual interactions. For instance, curling up in the wagon with legs slightly bent, stretching, or leaning on the edge of the wagon, naturally making gestures like a cat stretching its paws or "scratching." Paired with the white over-the-knee socks, it visually elongated my proportions while perfectly fitting the lazy and easygoing aura of a "cat-like girl."
The anime convention venue was actually very crowded, making a cluttered background inevitable, so this anime-style photography mainly used a prime large-aperture lens to compress the depth of field very shallowly, ensuring the subject wouldn't be disrupted by passersby in the background. Especially in the shot where I lean on the edge of the camping wagon, the big tail behind me swings out just right, serving as a perfect supplementary element. We took quite a few close-ups, including the extension of my legs and the thigh-highs, because tight white long socks easily become a visual focal point in daily outfits or convention styling. The entire set goes for a clean and refreshing style, requiring no overly gorgeous or complicated props, nor any exaggerated makeup and styling; it's comfortable and free to wear while turning out great on camera.
A place like an anime convention can sometimes really give people that so-called "slight subculture shock" because you always see everyone putting their utmost dedication into the styles they love. For me, every time I finish changing into my outfit and step into the exhibition hall, I have already said a brief goodbye to my everyday self. Being able to briefly experience this light, cozy, and completely relaxed cat-like state is quite joyful in itself. This set of photos records the relatively natural moments of the day at the convention, so just take it as a daily share.
