The theme of this shoot is set as "The Continuation of Dreams," aiming to create a sense of stillness detached from daily life. From the costume styling to the scene construction, we were trying to build a soft, semi-transparent space. The white gown-style dress simulates a combination of a nun's habit and a wedding dress, with a certain amount of lace edge details preserved at the collar and cuffs, matching the white veil and gloves to keep the overall color tone highly unified. To highlight the texture of the face, the makeup focused heavily on a matte finish for the base, giving the skin tone a porcelain-like smoothness. The red eyeshadow and pupil color unintentionally become the focus of the gaze, adding a sense of divinity and aloofness.

During the live shoot, the dreamcatchers and bead curtains in the photographs were the heavy focus of the early arrangement. White feathers, semi-transparent beads, and fine twine were all hung by hand to form layered relationships. To complement this soft background, the photographer adopted a full soft-light scheme. The light washed over like water, and a slight overexposure achieved that glowing edge effect. Props were used interchangeably; besides the black cross fixed to the chest, there were withered flower branches expressing a decadent aesthetic. In the photo with the completely black background, the cobweb in the foreground was actually bought from a market, stretched bit by bit onto the withered branches and white gauze. In this dark-toned scene, the single light source shines from the upper side of the figure, placing high demands on the scheduling of the highlight areas; otherwise, it would easily merge with the black, making it impossible to see the blue hair strands and the silhouette of the clothes clearly.

For the movement design, I didn't choose postures with combat vibes or surging tension, but instead leaned toward a static, watching, and gazing state. The composition of the mirror set creates an illusion of being divided into two through the projection at the edge of the frame, requiring me to control my gaze to look at either myself or another dimension during the performance. This type of content demands high focus and requires maintaining emotional continuity at all times. The photography rhythm actually needs to align with the character's traits; there's no rushing it. Only by adjusting one's breathing can that quiet whisper-like feel be captured. Although this set of shoots truly poured in a lot of thought, seeing the finished turnout makes me feel that the sense of transcending time and space was perfectly preserved.

I personally feel that this kind of Anime-style photography carrying a touch of liminal space style heavily tests the completion of styling and set design nowadays, and fortunately, everything reached the expected standard this time. The entire process was a journey of finding freedom within a set look; there's no need to deliberately explain anything, just as long as the audience can generate their own associations upon seeing the frames. After all, regardless of the character setting, what ultimately touches people's hearts is the genuine sincerity shining through the images. This project also serves as a great memory for Chongqing photoshoot booking.

In the early conceptualization, we focused on 'weakening the boundary between the figure and the environment.' To achieve the ideal effect, we selected a studio with Chongqing's highly characteristic industrial style for the indoor shoot, utilizing a texture collision between cold stone and soft white gauze. This contrast doesn't disrupt the overall softness but adds a three-dimensional layering to the frame. Meanwhile, the use of mirror elements endows the frame with more space for interpretation, extending the character's image in the 2D space through viewing from different angles.

Regarding the fabric of the costume, a cotton-linen blend with excellent drape was specially selected instead of conventional chiffon, allowing the lines to remain flat during static poses without looking frivolous due to a fabric being too lightweight. The cuff details of the gloves also underwent multiple adjustments to prevent wrinkles when the arms are raised. Although these small details are not deliberately magnified in front of the lens, their consistency throughout the entire photoset elevates the character's completion to a higher level.
