I completed the photoshoot for Velina from Zenless Zone Zero at Gugu Studio, and I am extremely pleased with the overall result. The costume design features a tri-color palette of blue, white, and black: a dark inner layer on top, complemented by a white high collar and a gold ribbon bow at the chest, while the skirt and waistline are adorned with blue-and-white geometric patterns and plush pompoms. What demanded the most effort was the silver-white straight long wig. Trimming the blunt bangs and sideburns needed to flatter my face shape while preserving the character's cool detachment; once paired with pointed elf ear props, the iconic silhouette immediately came to life.

To accentuate the character's persona, the makeup incorporated blue contact lenses and rosy lips, paired with a clean, translucent base. The white sleeve cuffs and black-and-white gloves held up with exquisite texture under the studio's cool-toned lighting. On the lower body, the over-the-knee White stockings were a standout focal point of this styling—boasting subtle jacquard patterns and white lace trim along the thighs, creating smooth, uninterrupted leg lines. I deliberately selected a snug fit so awkward wrinkles wouldn't form when sitting or raising a leg; paired with the zettai ryouiki framing, it struck an ideal balance between subtle sensuality and the character's innate elegance.

For props, I wielded a folding fan with a white base, blue trim, and yellow teardrop patterns. Whether fanned out or held to partially veil the face, it added rich interactive storytelling to the frames. The set was centered around a white plush sofa over a deep-pile white rug, framed by classical columns, gilded wrought-iron screens, and abundant white and pale blue floral arrangements. Expansive blue-green drapes, shaped by dramatic key lighting, crafted a cool-toned spatial depth. During shooting, I experimented with multiple seated postures: the crossed-leg pose in Photo 1 projected poised composure; in Photo 3, angling sideways with one leg lifted and the fan half-covering my face guided eyelines naturally along the leg contour; Photo 4 featured reclining backward with feet propped on the coffee table, delivering a languid, carefree ease that amplified the character's commanding presence under a high-angle shot.

Shooting a character with a long wig and elaborate accessories means movements must remain measured to keep the hair neat and garments from bunching out of shape. Before getting on set, I habitually rehearse muscle memory in front of a mirror for core poses, particularly training my gaze through the lenses to preserve that aloof yet effortless demeanor. A Studio shoot is demanding on styling details, making touch-ups and wig smoothing an essential routine throughout the session. The shoot was fast-paced, and the resulting cuts beautifully preserved the sharp blue-white-black contrasts and rich layered textures.
