This Rumia shoot was completed in a pure white studio, aiming for a clean, translucent visual aesthetic. Let's start with hair and makeup. Styling the wig took quite a bit of time to faithfully recreate the golden wavy curls. The bangs couldn't be too heavy—just enough to brush the eyebrows—and the curl at the tips had to look effortless and dynamic rather than stiff, requiring generous amounts of styling spray to hold its shape. For makeup, the base was kept fresh and light, while the eye makeup utilized reddish-brown tones to complement the crimson contact lenses. The lenses were highly pigmented, which slightly narrowed my field of vision, but it was worth enduring for the visual impact, keeping my focus locked right down the barrel of the lens.

The costume has plenty of subtle details. The white shirt features a slightly semi-sheer fabric with voluminous flared ruffle cuffs, creating graceful folds whenever I raised my arms. Over it is a black sleeveless pinafore dress with a deep V-neck that reveals the red necktie beneath, accented by a nicely textured gold pendant. The white cross on the side of the skirt is rendered in appliqué embroidery. Against the pure white backdrop and black dress, the white stockings became an eye-catching focal point. I selected a pair of opaque white knit pantyhose of moderate thickness that wouldn't sheer out or reflect glare, smoothing out leg lines seamlessly whether sitting or extending my limbs.

The lighting setup was quite meticulous. A pure white background can easily leave the subject looking muddy or flat. The photographer placed softboxes on either side of me to define facial contours, along with a dedicated background light behind me to keep the cyc wall brighter than the subject exposure, yielding subtle rim transitions around the silhouette and carving out great depth. For posing, sitting postures were vital while wearing white stockings so nothing looked cramped. Using a round stool as a pivot, I let my legs bend naturally or extend forward, leveraging perspective to elongate the lines. During close-ups, leaning slightly forward and gazing upward with the red contacts brought out that subtle, chilling edge.

The shoot went smoothly, taking about two hours from light tests to wrap. A minimalist white studio shoot really tests costume details and clean makeup; with no busy background to lean on, every bit of visual focus converges entirely on the subject. The final edits preserve raw textures without heavy grading, as the raw files were already deeply satisfying.

Ultimately, beyond the wardrobe, capturing Rumia centers on nailing her demeanor. While I often smile in casual shoots, I kept a calm, collected demeanor to stay true to the character. Crimson eyes paired with blonde hair already carry tremendous visual impact, so excessive facial expressions weren't necessary—a slight chin tuck and a sharper gaze were plenty. The wig was sprayed to stay voluminous, and the red ribbon hair accessory stood out sharply against the white backdrop, demanding precise placement to maintain balanced symmetry. Since this was a clean white studio session, I specifically requested the retoucher preserve skin texture and costume creases to maintain authentic realism. White stockings smudge easily, so I avoided stepping directly onto the floor, working atop the stool or mats instead. In the final shots, the classic collision between the white tights and black skirt, combined with the clean black-white-red palette against the white backdrop, looks wonderfully crisp. It was a thoroughly enjoyable studio session capturing that presence in front of the lens.
