[Furina Cosplay] Genshin Impact Fontaine Hydro Archon: Convention Photos Sharing

This set of convention photos features Genshin Impact's Furina outfit, and I was quite satisfied when I received the pictures. The natural diffuse light under the outdoor glass curtain wall perfectly toned down the saturation of the water-blue skirt, allowing the outfit's layers to look translucent without any plastic feel from excessive post-processing. The overall ambiance preserved the authentic atmosphere of the convention grounds.

Let's talk about the details of this outfit. The top is a slightly sheer white ruffled shirt with a light blue bow tie at the collar, complete with nicely executed clasp details. The outer dark blue capelet features a cropped cut with serrated cut-out edges, which, combined with the head hairpieces, really conveys the character's light yet slightly stage-ready demeanor. The black waist corset belt serves as the visual focal point of the outfit, using multiple horizontal crisscrossed leather straps to visually cinch the waist, creating a wonderful wide-and-narrow contrast with the fluffy skirt. Adjusting the tightness properly when wearing it is crucial; otherwise, it easily causes unsightly wrinkles.

The skirt on the lower half is the highlight of the entire ensemble. The light blue skirt surface is printed with white wave- or cloud-like patterns, spliced with multiple layers of white lace trim, and finished with dark blue striped pleats at the bottom hem, creating rich layering when puffed up. The teardrop-shaped sapphire ornament hanging at the waist is quite heavy, and paired with the metal chain, it provides a nice sense of weight and drape when walking. The handheld long staff weapon prop is one of the key focal points of the entire look; though carrying it around the convention all day made my arm truly sore, its translucent blue crystal texture and the metallic reverse hook design at the top definitely boosted the overall presence significantly.

For the hair, I went with short white hair featuring the iconic curved ahoge at the top and a blue-and-purple star-shaped crown. The real challenge in styling the wig lay in the front bangs: ensuring they draped naturally on both sides without blocking the contact lenses, while maintaining a slight fluffiness. I used a fair amount of hairspray during fitting to keep stray hair from flying around while walking through the hall. As for makeup, the focus was on the eye makeup; since the character has light-colored pupils, I wore matching color contact lenses paired with subtle highlights and a natural lip color, striving to keep facial contours clean and sharp even under chaotic convention lighting.

I must say the convention venue was quite interesting—the floor tiles had strong reflectivity, casting mirror-like reflections of the character and props. Combined with the cool-toned glass curtain wall and the huge \"No. 1\" sign in the background, it added a touch of modern geometric feel to the photos. However, the downside of such a location is that glare can easily create harsh shadows on facial features, so during the shoot, we deliberately looked for spots without direct sunlight, using soft natural light as the main light source. The poses in the photos explore different ways of holding the weapon: two-handed horizontal grips, a relaxed pose resting the staff on the ground with one hand, and close-up camera angles utilizing foreground weapon blur for spatial intensity, aiming to capture the static beauty of this costume across various dynamics. While organizing these pictures, I felt there's still room for improvement in prop pairing and makeup accuracy—such as fine-tuning the skirt lace or headpiece fastening next time I wear this cosplay—but overall, being able to achieve results I love at the convention site made the trip totally worth it.
