To prepare for this Goddess of Victory: Nikke duo photoshoot, extensive care went into pre-production. From wig cutting and styling to adjusting fine garment details, every effort was made to faithfully recreate each character's aura. I cosplayed Liberalio (Liberalio cosplay) this time; to capture her canonical essence, I accentuated the eye makeup with light-purple contact lenses and blended delicate transitions between eyeshadow and blush, giving the face a more three-dimensional anime finish. The pale-purple wig was styled into a sleek high ponytail topped with white geometric hair accessories, with the bangs gently fluffed to prevent looking stiff.
Regarding wardrobe, I chose a white dress with a satin sheen—a fabric that reads gorgeously on camera, though it places high demands on lighting. The white choker adorned with a silver square buckle around my neck was a subtle touch that gracefully contoured my neckline. The arms featured textured, ruffled white detached sleeves, complemented by black lacing and a corset design around the waist and skirt hem to add dimensional contrast to the pristine white base. To enhance visual depth, I applied highlighter across the contours of my shoulders and collarbones, ensuring my skin texture appeared exquisitely refined under the strobes.
My partner Queen @Lyn portrayed Liliweiss (Liliweiss cosplay), creating a striking monochrome black-and-white contrast between us. Her black Military uniform cosplay styling was exquisitely detailed: golden braided trims and metallic buttons all required meticulous hand-stitching, while the multi-colored ribbon bar badge on the chest served as the crowning touch. White gloves paired with semi-sheer Black stockings on the lower half balanced military sharpness with sensual character charm. Seated on a vintage gold-damask armchair with me leaning gracefully in front, this tiered, front-to-back composition tested our teamwork. We adjusted poses several times: she leaned back relaxed with one hand resting against her cheek and legs crossed, while I tilted my head slightly, gazing directly into the lens. To keep our dynamic natural, the photographer continuously guided us to exchange eye contact rather than maintaining rigid, posed stances.
The studio set utilized deep-crimson velvet drapes as the backdrop, paired with a gilded, high-backed upholstered armchair to evoke a classical, regal palace atmosphere. For lighting, the key light was dialed to a soft, cool-white tone to accentuate the sheen of the wig and garments, while rim lights traced our silhouettes from the flanks. Throughout the shoot, we tested diverse camera angles, aiming to convey Liberalio's signature languid ease while showcasing the upright posture of the Military uniform cosplay. Black stockings naturally produce glares under direct flash, so we deliberately recalibrated our angles to keep the leg lines sleek, natural, and flattering.
From test-firing lights to the final wrap, our entire team engaged in continuous collaboration and synergy. As cosplayers, beyond faithfully recreating a character's appearance, finding that inner rhythm and emotional demeanor is paramount. Mastering costume textures and harmonizing with light and shadow makes every shoot an exciting exploration.
