[Yunara cosplay] Real Convention Moment: Eating a Bowl of Noodles in League of Legends

Putting on this outfit to rush to the convention, the most practical thing indeed is sitting down to eat a piping hot meal.

Holding this freshly cooked bowl of noodles, the intricate blue pleated fabric and golden accessories on my body were still pressing against my arms. Although wearing a heavy wig and headpiece, once I caught the aroma of the noodles, I couldn't care less about looking elegant. This photo set captures authentic snippets of the convention day—busy with makeup and styling from morning until noon, the physical exertion was actually quite huge, and quickly replenishing carbs during the lunch break was essential to support the afternoon's plan for walking around the convention and shooting. This "Yunara" outfit is considered quite capable and neat in League of Legends, but a lot of effort went into its actual tailoring, especially the blue top with its special texture. The cut needed to ensure an exposed waistline while maintaining structure, which feels a bit restrictive to wear, though it looks great from a distance—just that sitting down to eat noodles requires avoiding oil splatters on the hem.

To recreate the character, the purple wig was braided and bound with a heavy golden ring headpiece, complemented by a light blue teardrop mark on the forehead and specially matched light blue contact lenses, making the whole face look as lively and exotic as the original game design. Before going on camera, I repeatedly checked the layers of my eye makeup; after all, with fake eyelashes and eyeshadow added, it would be a waste of effort if details weren't visible under natural light. Outdoor selfie lighting is actually quite unstable, but the natural light captured in these photos happened to bring out the sheen of the fabric and the metallic reflections of the accessories. There are always unexpected situations at convention sites—for instance, while the midriff-baring design of this outfit looks light and breathable visually, shooting for a long time made my waist and abdomen feel a bit cold. However, to present the character's spirit, these visual tradeoffs are indeed an unavoidable reality in Roleplay and cosplay.

When interacting with passersby in the venue, holding up props or making a few relaxed poses instantly reignited my mood with the local anime atmosphere. The picture sitting on the ground beside was taken in this state—with my water bottle and backpack placed behind me, and people walking by often entering the frame, this realistic environment felt even more vibrant than studio shoots. In the full-body shot taken through the giant glass curtain wall, although the moving crowd and sky can be seen in the background, that was precisely my genuine outdoor experience. Wearing a pair of thick-soled platform shoes, with the wind blowing against the fabric of my trousers, this relaxed wearing experience was actually extremely comfortable for a cosplayer frequently rushing around conventions.

Choosing to recreate the League of Legends character "Yunara" this time was largely due to her calm personality and the visual contrast blending earth tones with blue. During the outdoor shooting, we actually ran into many fellow fans, cheering each other on and helping adjust each other's wigs. From such details, cosplay represents not just the clothes on one's body, but an emotional expression of the character.

From walking around the venue all day in heavy character shoes to sitting in the rest area eating a bowl of noodles, the contrast and energy exchange within is what attracts me most about anime conventions. Although the outfit is heavy, the wig is stuffy, and sometimes large props even bump into passersby, as long as I stand in front of the camera or get recognized by fellow fans shouting the character's name, all fatigue turns into fulfillment. This group of photos taken today didn't deliberately pursue a cinematic blockbuster look, nor were they overly edited; they simply recorded moments where character meets real life, hoping to bring a bit of synchronized empathy to everyone who sees them. After all, every wholehearted Roleplay effort is a resonance signal transmitted toward the anime world we love. For me, being able to wear this outfit, eat a bowl of noodles, feel the breeze, and chat about hair and makeup details with fellow fans makes for the best convention weekend in my Cosplay daily life.
