[Yakumo Chen cosplay] Touhou Project Festival Amidst the Dimming Lights

When shooting this Yakumo Chen cosplay outfit, it happened to be dusk; the wooden Japanese festival set paired with the warm yellow glow of lanterns made for fantastic photos. The koi fish prints and green bow details on the costume are heavily crafted, and the large bell at the collar chimes crisply when walking. White puff sleeves and a ruffled skirt paired with slouchy socks, along with the tail behind, instantly brought out the character's lively agility. The skirt has multiple layers, requiring careful arrangement when switching between sitting and standing poses so the pleats don't bunch up awkwardly and ruin the look. Photographer @Yekong📷 was very experienced with posing guidance, having me lean straight against wooden pillars or sit on crossbeams, using koinobori carp streamers as the foreground—not only highlighting the main subject, but also setting the authentic Japanese festival scene atmosphere. When striking cat paw poses to go with the Cat ears, arm extension needs careful attention to avoid looking stiff. Throughout this process, I found my camera presence in cosplay outfits becoming increasingly natural.
