This time, I shot twelve sets of completely distinct styles in one go, spanning dark Gothic style, Cyberpunk sci-fi, fantasy magic, and energetic everyday aesthetics. First, let's dive into the practical details of the props and costumes. For instance, the purple bow and the red-and-black specialized weapon shown in the photos were entirely hand-sanded and painted by myself to ensure tactile, authentic textures on camera, giving them substantial weight in hand. For the Cyberpunk ensemble, the mechanical blade accessories and luminescent components required repeated angle adjustments during the studio shoot to avoid looking unnatural on camera. Wearing the Gothic style lolita outfit, beyond the heavy black cape, the combination of black stockings and over-the-knee leather boots in this Stocking outfit placed high demands on leg contours; to achieve ideal visual proportions, I performed numerous deep squats and knee-raises. Meanwhile, in Photo 11 featuring the white sci-fi combat suit paired with high-heeled boots, holding dynamic balance on one leg demanded intense core engagement.
Switching between wigs and colored contacts was another massive undertaking. Pink hair, silver-blue hair, straight black hair, white-to-blue gradient, blonde, and blue hair—each wig had to be re-trimmed and styled; especially for the silver braided look, copious hairspray was used to achieve a futuristic sci-fi aesthetic. Shifting between red, blue, and purple contact lenses also completely transformed the makeup style.
The shooting environments varied wildly. For studio shoots, cosmic starfield effects, floral arrangements, and water swings required coordinated on-set lighting and post-production VFX. In Photo 1's seated pose against the starfield backdrop, two purple rim lights were placed behind me to accentuate the celestial elements of the outfit. Conversely, when capturing candid dynamic moments at the noisy outdoor convention venue for Convention photos, everything depended on the photographer's quick instincts. For instance, in Photo 12's mid-air jumping pose, I jumped more than a dozen times to capture the exact split second when the skirt flared and the prop hammer struck down—an immense physical exertion. In Photo 6's ballet pose, I constantly stood on tip-toes in ballet slippers to keep the instep pointed straight, leaving my calves trembling after the shoot.
Regarding pose design, to showcase each outfit to its absolute best, I strived to keep my limbs extended. Whether crouching in battle in Photo 4, standing with an elevated leg in Photo 6, or crossing legs on the swing in Photo 10, priority was placed on presenting bodily curves and leg lines, while highlighting elements like the Stocking outfit and high-heeled boots. From lace to metallic hardware, every costume detail was guarded against wardrobe mishaps.
This shoot gave me a much deeper appreciation for character portrayal—it goes far beyond merely wearing garments; it requires conveying the unique aura of each look through body language and expressive eyes. From lighting coordination and prop maintenance to post-processing retouching and color grading, immense energy went into every step. I hope this dedicated effort polishes these multi-style cosplay works to perfection.
