This set of Yakumo Chen cosplay photos taken at Luyuan Tea House before the New Year happened to catch a rare beautiful sunny day.

The weather and the venue cooperated beautifully. The wooden corridors, woven bamboo chairs, moss bonsai in the corners, and even a friendly orange cat perfectly matched the character's leisurely and carefree feline temperament. The overall efficiency of this photo shoot was high. The photographer, Mr. Yunjian, was very keen at capturing light and shadow; the afternoon sun filtered through the wooden shutters and tree branches, creating a wonderful dappled effect on the costume.

A lot of thought went into the details of this outfit: the red fabric with white floral prints is paired with Lolita-style wide lace edges and detached puff sleeves. The iconic large golden bell at the neckline can be called the soul of the entire look. There is also that thick, black-and-white striped plush tail, which has a very solid texture and drapes naturally when walking or sitting, blending seamlessly into the frame without needing forced posing. On my feet, the platform wooden geta sandals paired with white silk stockings featuring bow-knot lace edges maintain the vintage Japanese style of the overall look while making it easy to shuttle back and forth in the courtyard for various actions.

During the shoot, I tried my best to recreate the character's energetic, slightly tsundere, and playful vibe. For example, sitting on the wooden floorboard to tease the napping orange cat nearby, sitting sideways with one hand on the ground to show off the tail and cuff details, or lifting the skirt hem while standing on one leg—all required managing my expressions and gaze while ensuring the plush tail and bell accessories didn't interfere with the camera composition. Although the afternoon sun was a bit blinding, hiding under the shadow of the wooden eaves made the light much softer, allowing the floral and lace patterns on the dress to show clear layers.

As more and more finished photos were sorted out, looking at the detailed records from different angles made me feel all the more that the sunshine and courtyard atmosphere at that time were truly rare. Although the costume accessories for this look are complex, under the right natural light, the textures of the different fabrics could be fully restored. The ancient wooden structures and courtyard light and shadow of Luyuan Tea House have a distinct oriental charm. When paired with the red-and-white Japanese-style Animal ear Lolita dress, the imagery carries strong emotional appeal without feeling ostentatious.

Personally, what I like most about this set of photos is the relaxed state. Although wearing a wig and a plush tail in a warmer environment is actually quite stuffy and hot, seeing the final results makes me feel that all the hard work and preparation paid off. The colorful tassels on the clothes and the red ribbons on my wrists provide a great sense of visual extension in various dynamic poses, making the movements more lively. From the gentleness shown when teasing the cat to the liveliness when waving at the camera, I tried to interpret different emotional states, hoping that in these organized images, the cute, agile, and slightly playful traits of this character can be fully preserved.

The overall cosplay photography experience was extremely comfortable, and the venue's prop details were very rich. For example, the tea tray on the table, the white porcelain teacups, and a plate of fresh mandarins all became natural auxiliary elements for the shoot, giving the entire set of photos a solid integration into the real scene rather than the detached feeling of a studio shoot.
