Shooting this set of Flandre Scarlet Cosplay convention photos, the focus is on recreating the dangerous yet innocent and romantic temperament of the vampire younger sister who possesses the power to destroy everything. I chose a classic black-and-red color-blocked dress to express the Gothic style. The detailed treatment of lace and ribbons has a major impact on the overall texture, and I spent a lot of energy arranging the outfit before the shoot. The colored crystal wings on the back are Flandre's iconic element, and I specially used a translucent material to simulate the effect. The colors reflected under the studio lights form a great visual echo with the red bows adorned on the dress. To give her expression the unique sense of contrast characteristic of the character, I not only adjusted the layers of the eye makeup but also did targeted practice for expression management in front of the lens, even blending some subtle dynamic expressions into the pacing. Those seemingly casual gestures in the final photos are actually expressions made based on the character setting and the ambient lighting of the scene.
