[Blue Archive cosplay] Misaki cosplay fitting log, this Black cheongsam outfit looks so stunning

Putting on this classic Black cheongsam outfit for Misaki cosplay and holding prop rifle and fan, I finally wrapped up this test shoot. Rather than intentionally recreating overly complex scenes this time, I opted for simple white walls and a white rug; the clean lighting ended up highlighting costume details much more clearly.

Let's talk about the outfit's tailoring first—the black sleeveless short cheongsam features a High-slit skirt cut that really tests leg proportions, which when combined with sheer skin-tone stockings and black high heels, visually elongates leg lines significantly. The vibrant blue frog button at the collar acts as a focal accent, creating striking contrast against the black fabric, while golden dragon-scale embroidery subtle reflects under light, giving an impressive texture. I intentionally draped the outer black pinstripe jacket off-shoulder, as its inner lining features a light cyan patterned satin; resting it over my arms adds color layering, and lifting it slightly during shots exposes the lining's ethereal feel, creating a very pleasing contrast.

Regarding hairstyle, double bun buns accompanied by two waist-length braids required silky wig fibers to maintain drape; when executing poses holding or tossing the braids, the long hair arc looked natural without unkempt flying strands. The prop setup featuring a vintage-style replica rifle and folding fan was actually quite heavy, causing arm fatigue over time, yet to achieve frame richness, I insisted on trying both holding and leaning postures for each. When sitting, leaning the rifle beside me formed diagonal lines between barrel and legs, guiding visual focus straight toward leg lines revealed by the High-slit skirt; when standing, lifting one leg while gently brushing hair back with the other hand created stronger dynamic rhythm without stiffness.

What required the most focus during this fitting was balancing angles and lighting. Given the overall dark palette, direct frontal lighting would blow out the golden patterns, so the photographer used a softbox for side fill lighting—preserving dark garment details while allowing the stockings to reflect a subtle natural skin sheen, rendering ankle and toe curves noticeably softer. Since my body proportions aren't extraordinarily long-legged, I remained conscious of knee orientation throughout the shoot, turning knees slightly inward or crossing legs to visually extend leg length; particularly in the seated fan shot, crossing my legs with shoe tips delicately touching the floor anchored composition perfectly.

Additionally, to maintain a clean aesthetic, the background was kept completely void of clutter except for a grey silhouette logo on the wall, echoing the black attire's color scheme nicely. During framing, I ensured not to sit too far off-center, maintaining central placement to streamline post-production layout and selection. However, this High-slit skirt truly limits movement range as slight bending over risks exposure, so prior to shooting, I repeatedly secured garments using safety pins and double-sided tape, ensuring no undergarment lines showed. The off-shoulder coat design also provided coverage—if upper arms felt overly exposed, pulling the coat up slightly resolved it easily.

Overall, this fitting retained both the character's heroic cool aura and added soft femininity via stockings and heels, successfully capturing a sharp yet languid atmosphere. Though props were heavy, final outputs made it thoroughly worthwhile—holding the folded fan alongside black gloves evoked a cool, taciturn mood. Indoor photography using white walls and a white plush rug offers optimal even light reflection, requiring almost no skin retouching in post-production; slightly boosting highlights instantly renders skin fair and translucent in Anime cosplay framing.
