This time I chose to do Flandre Scarlet from Touhou Project. The red and white patterned skirt hem combined with layers of ruffles, as well as the iconic white ruffled mob cap, achieved a replication level that I am quite satisfied with. The colorful rhombic crystals hanging on the wings were the part that required the most effort during prop making; they were hand-strung using transparent acrylic sheets and fishing line, swinging out very lightweight trajectories when capturing dynamic motions. The black long-handled staff in my hand was treated with hollowed-out patterns, and the grip feel was adjusted to an appropriate center of gravity. The shoot was chosen on an outdoor rooftop and next to the railings. Under natural light, the texture of the red dress looked exceptionally vibrant, and snapshots of jumping and swinging the props perfectly reflect the character's innocent yet slightly dangerous temperament. To coordinate with the blonde hair and red eyes, the makeup focused on strengthening the eye contours and the layers of eyelashes while preserving the translucency of the skin. The wig was treated with airy curls to avoid looking rigid. This set of photos includes both static moments of quiet staring and dynamic shots of jumping in mid-air, bringing out the contradictory charm of the second mistress as much as possible for this Touhou cosplay. The post-processing color grading was not overly modified, mainly maintaining the transparent natural light of the scene, hoping to capture that little girl playing in the Scarlet Devil Mansion's basement for this Anime-style photography piece.
